Also when I spray my weed killer make sure it is directly on the weeds I pull the weeds first then spray the weed killer where I pulled the weed up, it pretty much helps control the weeds, stay blessed Marie love your channel as always.

Love how you guys are turning this house in to a home inside and out! As for the "garden beds' I like to use the work flower garden and yes use weed killer it won't kill your plants as long as you don't spray the plant so your good. Just don't water the area sprayed for like 2 days to make sure the weeds die. You can water the flower just use a watering can

As for a barrier up here in ny if I don’t have one down, boy do the weeds come up. Last year I pulled up ALL of my plants and put a barrier down, replanted my plants, then put new mulch down. You’ll learn the more you work in the garden what works and what doesn’t.

I think it’s a garden and y’all are doing great! Idk about round up, we were told it would only kill weeds and used it around a weeping Cherry tree we’d been growing for two years. After we sprayed some weeds near the tree it totally killed the tree. I was so sad 😭

Hey Marie, just watched your video I watch all of your videos I love the way you decorate and you have a beautiful home. We rent to and we are always doing things to our house to make it our own you and Eric have done a really good job outside with the walkway and everything it looks really good. I'm not trying to tell you what to do but you might not want to use the roundup around your plants because if you spray anywhere around them the roundup will eventually go to the roots of your flowers because it soaks up into the ground and spreads and I would hate to see anything happen to your flowers after all of the hard work that you did. As far as weeds go, I just put my top soil down, I have no barrier & I don't use any chemicals in my gardens..... not too many weeds come through. I have a very healthy garden, with quality top soil, worms & an assortment of annuals & perennials..... not a lot of weeds, not sure why. But, I think if your garden ground is "hard", as you had mentioned, you've got to add some really dense, moist top soil ( it would go under the mulch )...... your flowers will love it. As far as mulch goes, I find it's more decorative..... also, I've found that even though mulch will hold moisture, a lot of heat wil be stored in the mulch ( if the mulch is black - - the black absorbs heat ) & will make my garden a bit of a hot house/ which my flowers have not liked in deep summer temps. So, I've been most successful with top soil, which creates a very rich garden for my plants to thrive. Oh, and if you can, buy a Milk Weed plant for your garden - - this is the only food source for Monarch butterflies..... they will come to the milkweed & lay their eggs. The caterpillars will feed on the milkweed & then you will have monarch butterflies in your garden! I just recently got my first Milk Weed plant to help create a "pollinator" garden. : ). Also, your littles will love all of the munching caterpillars - - they will not hurt the other flowers, they can only feed on the milkweed before they cocoon & then metamorphosis. Milk Weed is also a perennial, so it will come back every year, which is a great investment in your garden.. : )

There’s nothing more satisfying than taking a shower and doing self care after a workout. 😊 I agree it’s better to have clean laundry than dirty laundry sitting around your house.
