This excellent information on the rubber plant. Most posts I read stated it's an indoor plant, however, it may be the location is the reason. I particularly focused on that your video confirmed it can be grown outside. Living in Western Australia there are many large thriving rubber trees growing in the full sun. This has given me confidence that mine will grow in a large pot out side once I ease it into the full sunlight given it was grown in a nursery environment. 1.300 tall. Q. Should I mist the leaves as we have dry heat? I read it's not good to do this. Thank you Carmen Western Australia

Hi, Yes you can. Mine thriving under direct tropical sun. If you have been growing it shade, train it first by moving it slowly to direct sun.

Hi. You need to be concerned with water control only when the plant is too young and is in a potting mix that retains too much water. When the plant has grown bigger the roots will be much stronger and will not rotten. So when the plant is still small or newly propagated, it is best to use well-draining and well-aerated potting soil such as sandy soil. I grow this plant in sandy soil as well and they are doing great. To ensure the soil is healthy you can mix it with compost.

Hi. Thank you for your comment. I have no experience growing any plants under grow light. I live in a tropical country. I get plenty of sunlight. I grow/propagate/cultivate all my plants using natural lights and shades whether indoor or outdoor.

If the plant is correctly hydrated, not overwatering or under watering, and with sufficient lighting, meaning the lighting must be consistent;, the plant's leaves will become firm, waxy and shiny.

Hi Rahul, yes you can pot all in same type of soil. I find that rubber plants can grow in any type types of potting mix so long it's well draining mix. So, that it won't get soggy when we water them.

I have a newly bought variegated rubber plant about 2 ft tall, and it has brown spots on some of the leaves. Some had already fall off.. what should i do? Please help..

Hi. Based on my experience, usually this is because of overwatering. Probably the plant had already been overwatered in the nursery itself. I suggest you to only water the plant again once the top soil is completely dry. If you find the soil is too damp or soggy, its not good for the plant. Roots may be rotting. You may want to take out the plant and check if the root has rotten. If yes, cut of the rotten root and repot the plant in a new well draining growing media and water it. And wait until the soil is dry before watering again. The plant will stop getting brown spots and stop dropping leaves. One more thing, low humidity also can cause brown spots. Ensure to place the plant in high humidity area, meaning the atmosphere must have sufficient water vapour in the air.

I am not sure what worm you are referring to. If you are referring to earthworms, they actually make soil more fertile and as such it is good for plants.
