Wow! Up to 100 ft. Who knew. I love them all, but the variegated ones are my favorites. Excellent tips as usual Mary Ellen. Great seeing you. 🌱 😊

The Ruby Elastica is gorgeous! We had a large Ficus Audrey on my campus aeons ago. It was so large and had beautiful roots. Thanks again. 😊

❤ Gorgeous plants! Thank you for sharing, and for all of your research! I always struggle with the water stains on these leaves. Do you mind sharing what you use? Yours are stunning!

Thanks so much for your sweet comment Debbie! So nice of you. I either use a vinegar/water mixture or a lemon/water mixture. I have an new video covering the different cleaning solutions here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJqThZV-rpehpLMsi=V1uYHDjdsidWRNAn

Realistically how long do these take to grow? 😅😅

Ficus shivereana isn't actually an elastica though. And Ruby and Belize isn't the same. Belize doesn't have ANY white/cream while Ruby does. But it's really really hard to find accurate info about rubber plants varieties. And they are usually sold under the wrong name too. 😑

Are these kin to the uforbia family

Euphorbia is the fourth-largest genus of flowering plants (about 5,000 species currently identified) and in the family Euphorbiaceae. Ficus is a genus of about 850 species of woody trees, shrubs, vines, epiphytes and hemiepiphytes in the family Moraceae. They both have a latex sap, but the plant uses it for different reasons. When injured, the latex of Euphorbia plants takes a long time to harden. This gives the plant time to deliver a cocktail of poisonous compounds to stop biting insects. Ficus latex on the other hand hardens rapidly, sealing the wound to prevent infection and fluid loss.
