Indrahar Pass Trek - Triund - Dhauladhar Range.

Indrahar (इन्द्रहार) Pass is a mountain pass in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. Located at 32°17.852′N 76°22.872′ECoordinates: 32°17.852′N 76°22.872′E and an altitude of 4,342 metres (14,245 ft) above mean sea level, near the tourist town of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, Indrahar pass forms the border between Kangra and Chamba districts. It is part of a very popular trekking route from Dharamshala. It attracts substantial tourist traffic during the trekking season between April - October.Indrahar Pass TrailThe trekking trail to Indrahar pass starts from Galu Devi temple above Dharamkot village near Dharamsala and passes through the camping ground of Triund, Ilaqua/Laka Got, and Lahesh Caves. On the other side of the pass, the camping sites include Chhata caves at 3242 metres and Kuarsi village in Chamba at 2,260 metres.The trek starts from McLeod Ganj and continues as follows: McLeod Ganj main market (1750m) to Galu Devi temple at Upper Dharamkot (2100m) | 2 km | 1-2 hour walk OR a 45-minute cab ride Galu Devi temple (2100m) to Triund (2825m) | 2-3.5 hrs walk (mix of easy and uphill) Triund (2825m) to Snowline Cafe | 1-2 hour uphill walk Snowline Cafe to Ilaqua Got (grazing grounds) | 1 hour easy walk (mostly flat/downhill) Ilaqua to Lahesh cave (3300 m) 2-3 hours. Lahesh Cave to Indrahar Pass (4300m) | 2-6 hours of steep climb

nice one. In one of the shots i saw you are using canister stove for cooking. Can you give some idea on how long these cans last in terms of cooking basic food for 2 / 3 times a day.? e.g. food that can be prepared by boiling in water e.g. oats, dehydrated mtr packets (which require pouring hot water), coffee/tea etc..

At 1000m it work for 2.5 hrs.and a single can costing as of now 450 or 200 with delivery(types - Refill can and round can).The burner is around between 600 - 8000 depending upon material but all surfice the purpose.With every 1000 meter inclination the boiling drop to by 1 degree and usually at 4000m it's 96..long short story...for me at 4000m it work for max 2 hrs keeping cold restrain.You can cook the items you mentioned. And it will make tea for 8 times for 2 person.The weight of your kit will be around 1.5 kg including gear and small utensil.Good luck ✊

June se lekar sept end tak before first snow fall.Agar jada snow chahiye aur jara difficult karna hai to in June but humare 4 baar ke alag experience se I will suggest you fro. end of August till September end

@@tarunkadian2 I will suggest you to go in between June to October..now it is completely covered with fresh snow.It will a pain rather than fun.if u still want to go the gear you require will be proper mountaineering gear whose rental will cost 5k, which will be complete stupidity unless u are preparing for Mountain summit and sharpening ones skill.wait for next year..👍 it will be worth

Can we camp at Lahesh Cave with two or three tents?

If u are going to indrahaar pass or chamba via kuarsi then only you should camp at lahesh.Otherwise I will suggest to camp at snowline and to hike till Lahesh without any load and come back to snowline.It will more fun and an enjoyable experience.if u want to camp at Lahesh then u can but it will be not a comfortable stay as the land is rocky and slant.

We are planning to trek from Dharamshala to Chamba via Indrahar Pass covering Mun peak... I was asking that is it possible to place tents at that place... We are a team of 5-6 trekkers.. If it is not possible to camp atleast 3 tents, then at what place should we camp so that we can reach our next camping site before sunset? Other question is that if this cave can accommodate 6 persons sleeping area? We don't mind rocky and slant terrain to take rest..

Budget is subjective but for 4 of us ,4 days it's was 4k and we had our tent,sleeping bag,cooking gear,light etc.For hiking,trekking and mountaineering I will enlist the best gear soon.gear are also subjective if u are hobbyist then tent is for 2k sleeping bag for 1.5 k .mat for 600 and carry packet food for 2 days.else go with a company in budget to know whether u should invest or not in this activity.

3 hrs hike from indrahaar pass.The climb is steep, have a person in team who has climbed it before or has experience of mountaineering.If you want to do by yourself than have a shot but always listen to your inner self..life is important than any peak.Best time will be July aug sep .Good luck

Yes..leapards,fox,kug(wild sheep),bear. I have fox,leapard kug encounters.no bear but yes I have seen footmark.Go in season time and with atleast in 3.Avoid walking here and there once the sun goes down.Animals are very much punctual.good luck
