Induction necessarily relies upon making certain assumptions beyond what is directly observable. The "ampliative" aspect of induction is actually a euphemism for the necessity of using assumptions in induction. We can use deduction to get more information than we initially started. A perfect example of this is the Ontological Deductions of Parmenides. This would be considered ampliative even though they are purely deductive.

There can be no knowledge or information without inference. Knowledge requires memory retrieval and memory retrieval requires inference and in particular, the leap of faith that your memory is accurate. "I remember this, therefore this is what happened." (Inductive, Ampliative, and Memory Bias) "I remember this, therefore this is what I remember happened. Unless my memory is inaccurate what I remember is what appeared to happen." (Tautological and Deductive)

I never liked induction. My favorite is abduction based on deduction.
