I love my induction cooktop. I have a 36" cooktop with 5 burners in my island. I absolutely love it. Induction works well with an island installation because the cooktop is thinner than electric and gas cooktops because you don't need all of the extra clearance because the glass top is the only thing that gets hot from the pans heating up. I think induction combines the best of electric and gas. Gas gets hot fast. Turn it on and you are cooking. Electric offers fine tuning of cooking temperatures that you can't get with gas. Induction does both. I can put cooked rice on warm and the rice stays warm and it doesn't burn. When I put a pot on the cooktop, I use the "P" (Power) setting that gets a pot or skillet hot very quickly. Like you, I've used stoves with exposed electric and gas burners and the thing I hate the most about then was the clean up. I hated when anything spilled out of the pot or grease splattered and got under the burners. You could never get it cleaned without taking the cooktop apart. And, if you didn't clean up, old food, oil, and starchy pasta water would sear on to the burner and oven from the heat of the burner being used again. If you want to experiment with induction cooking, you may want to try an induction hob (single burner), but let me warn you. The single induction hobs are not as good and as consistent an induction cooktop. For example, set at a low temperature, the full size cooktop heats the pot or pan consistently and evenly, but the induction hob I have pulses the induction heating. The hob causes the pan to get super hot for a short time and then it seems to turn down. My full size induction cooktop doesn't do that. There is no super hot pulsing. Just know that if you like the induction hob, you will love an induction cooktop and if you hate the hob, the issues you have may be hob related and not because it uses induction. Regarding the "object detected" beeping, you may be able to turn that off by locking the cooktop. Not sure. Yep, you can lock the cooktop so that kids don't accidental turn it on. The cooktop senses the size of the object in it and won't turn on fur shah things like car keys. The object detected beep doesn't bother me because, having used exposed gas and electric cooktop burners, I got out of the habit of placing things on the cooktop. Always afraid of accidentally bumping into a knob and turning it on. I've had my induction cooktop for 15 years. No scratches, but I don't jostle my food around in the pan or slide pans against the glass. I use my cast iron skillets with no issue. Cheap paper towels work the best to clean the glass cooktop. The cheap scatchy napkins from McDonalds and other fast food restaurants work great. They really cling to grease splatters well. The closer the paper towel is to a newspaper, the better they clean. As some of your audience already know, if they live in an area with a lot of power outages, gas is obviously the way to go. Thanks for the review!

thanks for your excellent review. The fact that it beeps when you put on it while bringing in the groceries will be a deal breaker for me. I know that area in my kitchen will be busy and the cooktop may, from time to time, be a landing pad for other items. Are all induction cooktops the same about items sitting on top of them when the burners are not in use?

I can't find out how many amps this oven is. The installation manual says 40 or 50. Is it 40 or 50? And how many KW is it? The manual lists 8.8 to 16.5 KW or 16.6 to 22.5 KW but it doesn't say which one this oven is. Thanks. My outlet is 40 amps and I'd hate to order it and when it arrived they say they can't install it because it needs 50 amps. Also, some reviewers said the cooling down fan for the oven lasts 90 minutes and is very loud. Is this true?

Is the cooling fan on the ovens as loud as some reviews make it out to be? It sounds like it runs for 2 hours after the ovens are used.

Did you have an electrician put in a 40 or 50 amp 240 volt outlet since most kitchens don't have that high of an amp?

Mine does it if there’s a bit of moisture under the pan. Now and then it does it for something very shallow iM simmering

If the pan needs to be magnetic, what happens if you use a magnetic storing device, will it stick to the pan when the element is on?

Do you happen to know the minimum temperature the oven gets to? I was looking at the manual and it has a ‘keep warm’ function, so I was wondering what the minimum temperature was on that setting (want to use it to proof bread at 100F)

I love cooking with gas, but as my husband and I get older and more forgetful, it's nice to have the safety features so we won't get burned or something catches fire because we forgot to turn it off simmer when the flame is so low you can hardly see it. Before I go to bed at night, I make sure everything is put away. And I have reached over the stove to get into a cabinet, feel the heat, and find simmer has been on for hours. My next range will be induction.

I personally own that exact model. Biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. The biggest defect is the double oven. The smaller top oven produces so much heat it keeps warping the hinges there for enabling the door to open after use. The appliance is less than three years old and Im on my third repair. always same problem. from the date you put in the call for repair them ordering parts to actually getting it fixed, your looking at three months. If you own one of theses things, do your self a favour and get the extended warranty or stay away completely.

Some appliances just have major design flaws to add extra features. Refrigerators with built in icemakers in the refrigerator part are another critical point of failure that is one of the dumbest designs exist and fail non stop. I have learned this the hard way, but a lot of times with appliances, the less features it has the better. You can still buy a nice and high end appliance just dont get the one with the bells and whistles on it because its sure to break.

You were scammed (bait and switch, whatever you want to call it) with the promise of pots and pans. Yeah, mistakes happen, but after two years, you know it wasn't going to happen. I would be curious to find out if anyone else took this deal and actually got the pots and pans. And how long it took.

dont buy the gas cook top version, we have the same stove, after a few years the gas valves started giving problems with locking up....replacements are over 100.00 each. So after 9 years we have had to replace 5...so that 500.00 in parts in 9 years......my suggestion is buy something else.
