If you want to bend angle irons you should heat the flange that makes the vertical face of the arch, and then strike it with a straight peen hammer or blunted cold chisel snugged up to the inside corner. It's amazing how precisely you can control the curvature without any deflection or twist.
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tips! I have bought a forge kit for just that reason, except I hope to place the heated angle over a form and stretch the flange. It will experiment a few different techniques. I really appreciate you feedback!

Scott, on your bent angle iron, if you cut slices into your angle iron with your angle grinder, make your bend and then weld your slices closed, makes bends a lot easier but more welding and grinding... Hope this helped
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious5 жыл бұрын
Thanks you. That was one option but I really wanted to create the bend without the cuts. That method can create other problems. Using a forge and bending it around a form is the best way I think. Cheers.
