This video was far shorter than my normal ones, but I hope you enjoyed the simple one day project. People who know the channel well will know I love making hammers, so even though there was no forging here, it was still a blast. Thank you so much for watching, get out there and make something, and have a great day :)

I’m certain I will, and the pipe is scrap from my local steel supplier that sells at two dollars a pound

Cool mallet, does it vibrate a bunch with the metal handle?
@Anvil_knocker
@Anvil_knocker 10 ай бұрын
That was one of my concerns, but it actually doesn’t vibrate almost at all, I think it’s because the actual face of the mallet is wood and that absorbs some of the vibration.

What is a dead blow mallet? And why do you need scrappies between the wood?

A dead blow mallet is a mallet with typically lead shot inside of it, and the concept behind this is that when you hit something with a hammer it dumps all of its energy immediately, however when you hit something with a dead blow mallet while you’re swinging all of the lead shot or little bits of metal stay on the back of the hammer, so then you Hit your piece, you get the initial force from it hitting like a hammer and then you get the added force of all of the pellets coming crashing down onto your work piece, the idea is to stretch out the period in which force is imparted onto whatever you’re hitting.

I’ve always thought of a hammer as a tool for making things. Never thought of making the hammer!!

I’ve been wanting to start forging but don’t have money to build a box setup like yours, would a fireplace with a hairdryer work?

Nice patches dude, those denim patches look really good on the flannel. Do you have some other form of contact for questions?

Thank you, I just figured I would combine my broken jeans and broken jacket to make something not broken anymore. And there’s no other way to reach out to me, I might start branching out into other social medias, but you can always ask a question here

I’ve wanted a good corded drill, but this is the drill that my family got when I was roundabout five, so I’m gonna use it till it blows up
