Hi Polygon Pen. I'm a big fan of your great tutorials and I always learn from watching them. I'd like to give a little tip you probably didn't know about. At 06:54 under topology tab of the Bevel tool, you could change the Mitering from Default to Uniform. It will automatically do the clean up for you. Thanks Again bro.

at 25:43 when you slide, my cinema dosnt let me and it just deselects all the edges. i dont know how your topology gives you smooth results either because my quads just turn into broken 4 point black triangle after snapping the points at 24:12. please help, love the videos.

Thanks for the tutorial. I was just curious though at 1:29 why do you check "single line" in the line cut options? Also when i then use stitch and sew it completely messes up the geometry no matter what I do. I'm using a demo of C4D 2024. Would really appreciate any advice.
@polygonpen Жыл бұрын
If you enable single line option, the tool will stop after adding a single line, it is not a big deal, you can keep it off. You need to match the edges/points correctly for stitch and sew tool.

Hello! This is very interesting. The detailed explanation is really appreciated! I've been practicing with edge flow and sometimes I would struggle, I would have too much topology, or my segments on my primitive would mess with me later on. I think the most important part is knowing the geometry you will need Why was it 36 and I don't know, 32 or 16? And the bevels on the corners were 3 segmented I might be daydreaming, but how you know with how many segments to start? I think (I'm still learning sorry D:) the very first steps on the creation of the primitive make a difference fixing edge flow easier later... Thanks for the video Polygon! Hope you're doing good :D! Thanks!
@polygonpen3 жыл бұрын
All segment/bevel etc numbers are experimental actually, and you can change them, there is not a perfect count, at first I made my cylinder 36 segments because when you try to create cylindirical shapes with details, it is always necessary to have relatively high poly counts, and your segment lines should match with sketch/image plane also 36 is a good number to divede by 2 or 4 and not too high for an object but as I said 36 is not absolute, it can be 48 or something, I made the bevel 3 segments because it was enough to hold the shape, you learn these things as you practise.

Modeling industrial objects in a polygon base software is a funny joke. SolidWorks or Rhinoceros 3d can operate this in no more than 2 minutes.
