How Super Mario 64 was developed?
All of these questions and SO MUCH MORE will all be explained in this information heavy half hour documentary on the making of the video game console, Nintendo 64.
Learn all about who helped make the system come to life, who voiced Mario, how Sonys PlayStation began as a Nintendo console before it got axed.
This look at the Nintendo 64, or as it was advertised in the 90’s as “The Fun Machine” also starts with quick rundown of how Nintendo as a company started in the first place in the late 1800’s all the way up to the release of the Nintendo 64 in 1996.

N64 was the console that I dreamed of having as a child but I couldn't because of its high cost. I had to wait 25 years since its launch to try the gems in its catalog, and I can say that the wait was worth it. Maybe it's because I wanted it so much when I was a kid, and I didn't own or play any console after the Sega Genesis, that to this day the graphics of the N64 still dazzle me and seem incredible, and I love them so much that I prefer that aesthetic (with all its limitations) before modern hyper-realistic graphics.

I liked shadow of the empire, but the have works like bland and empty. Even back then that wasn't n64 best showcase for what the system could do. I miss the old nintendo though, this is when nintendo was hardcore and took graphics and mature games seriously.

As a kid seeing all consoles choose cds over cartridges made me think the N64 was a step behind but as adult playing a ps1 resident evil loading screen after opening every single door compared to n64 being on cartridges was the best option

Mario64 and Pilotwings64 were available for player at the Nintendo's Megadome in Laronde Montreal before it' official release, We've play all summer in 1996. I remember like it was last year. Mario64 was not complete, second floor was not available and if I'm right, the logo was Ultra64

Really great, detailed video. I'm excited for part 2 to come out! The 64 was released when I was only 1 year old, and my parents bought it for me at the end of its life cycle, as my first console. So many memories of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. What a great way to get introduced to gaming.

@maximusthe4th Thanks man! I will always try hard to dig deeper and harder to leave people who have some deep knowledge on the subject with a few extra things they didn’t know. I become such a nerd when I research my mind is fixated on it like a virus until I finish and release it lol. It’s funny how that works, every one of your videos always pops off well, you know your audience. My problem is my videos vary too much from one to the next so it kills my reach but I’m beyond caring about competition or anything. I just put the stuff out and I’m happy to see my brothers like you grow with me 😎

Well nintendo did had a reason to go for a 64bit cpu and add 4 controller ports to the N64,because they knew that other competitors didn’t had that but they also knew that the atari jaguar was berally a 64bit. machine so they had to stand out from the rest by also implementing cgi graphical capabilities into their N64 system, Just imagine if nintendo opted for a 32bit cpu instead with no cgi builtin and offering only two controller ports, then it would,ve any advantage over it’s competitors, but i guess that even if atari did came up with their 32bit panter game console instead, nintendo would,ve still go for a 64bit cpu inside their N64 system.

I will never forget popping in Mario 64 for the first time. My sisters do not game -- we all sat around the TV amazed for hours that day. I've played better games, seen better graphics and watched the industry explode since then... Nostalgia is unfair because even the actual Matrix or Ready Player One couldn't impress me as much as that little box did all those years ago. Also, they can lie about it all they want -- the N64 doesn't use CDs because Nintendo was furious with Sony and was in no way willing to pay royalties for the format (Similar to how Microsoft insisted against Blu-ray in the Xbone). They refuse to admit this and come up with a jillion semi plausible excuses but I guarantee that's most of the reason.

Nintendo really had a perfect Domination video game plan that would've worked, if they hadn't use cartridges smh. Man, this was Nintendo biggest fuck up that hurt them for generations. Didn't know they had rockstar before anybody else under a different studio name at the time! They coulved had GTA exclusively if it was for the fuck up of the n64 using cartridges! Yikes. They are still somewhat recovering from this even today. I'm glad they are better off now than they were back then. The switch is a success. Nintendo really needs to go back to power with the switch 2 or wester there next console is.
