Avi, the original bass, left because he was tired of traveling, plus his mother was ill. They parted on good terms, and he went off and initially formed his own group, Avriel and the Sequoias, but lately he's done a lot of solo work. All of his solo work is highly recommended.

They are actually using effects on this one - contrary to what they usually do - because this period just couldn't be done justice without auto-tune, etc. Normally, they won't put anything on a track that they can't do live, but sometimes they will to honor the original.

They started using more audio effects on The Lucky Ones album. They did live versions of Lucky Ones tracks for TV shows that still sounded good, so the rule of "no extreme effects" is now out the window according to their sound engineer Ed Boyer.

They do use auto-tune on a couple of things in this one, as an effect rather than to correct vocal pitch. Otherwise, that, it's just Mitch. He can imitate a bizarre range of sounds (felt-tipped marker squeaks seemed to be a favorite at one point ... there are a bunch of tour + rehearsal videos available under #PTXperience that show you all kinds of casual interactions between the group members and their tour staff). ETA: Oh, more songs - you have a bunch of good suggestions already, but how about Imagine (cover), Love Again (original), La La Latch (cover/mashup), Shallow (cover), Sounds of Silence (cover), SIng (original), Can't Sleep Love (original), Come Along (cover), Mary Did You Know (cover, and yes, Xmas song, but don't let that stop you), Coffee in Bed (original).

This one was released completely by surprise, as even the most ardent Pentaholics had no idea this had even been recorded! They have announced that they are currently working on a new project in the studio, but are being very secretive about it. Since there are 17 songs in this medley, I have the theory that the new album is gonna be a 90s Dance Music covers album featuring full versions of all 17 of these songs. I guess this video was your introduction to Avi's replacement Matt.

Please don't break down! I would miss you. Matt is now doing the bass line. Avi, the first bass, left in 2017 for personal reasons. You are a Pittsburgher!!!!!! I thought I heard you say "yinz". We live in the South Hills. Keep the animation coming...I love it! PTX has a very deep catalog. What kinds of content do you like? If I were you, I'd go through their channel and pick out songs you know you've heard from the past. Also, look at the "Likes". Some songs have millions of likes. Enjoy!

You could also check out Home Free. They are another vocal band (no instruments) who follow in the steps of PTX, literally, as PTX won The Sing Off, season three and Home Free won in season four.

My first suggestion, would be to listen to their version of IMAGINE, for the arrangements and the way they made it. After that, why not check LOVE AGAIN, wich is an early original song they wrote. They made a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL version of HALLELUJAH by Leonard Cohen...wich has become somewhat of a go-to song for reactions videos. I guess you'll see why when you react to it. But they have made so many amazing videos, you're in for an interesting voyage of musical discovery with PTX! My personal favorite, is an original song they wrote for their first album (Wich is solely all of them singing) called RUN TO YOU. Welcome to the Pentaholics family!

Here's a little bit of History about them. They won the 3rd season of The Sing-Off, they won $200,000 and a singing contract with Sony records which drop them immediately afterwards because they were not sure what to do to promote them! So they came up with their own KZbin channel to share their music. They have won 3 Grammys 1st Grammy was for Daft Punk in 2014, for Best Arrangement Instrumental or A Cappella. They made this one themselves, all the vocals were done in a closet and the video was done at the kitchen table in Avi and Kevin's apartment. Their 2nd Grammy was for Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in 2015 for Best Arrangement Instrumental or A Cappella, and their 3rd Grammy was Jolene for Best Country Duo/Group Performance in 2016 which they performed with Dolly Parton.

I really like what you did to the video so you could play it without pausing for copyrights. I also appreciate you leaving the volume loud enough so we can enjoy their music. There are so many songs pentatonix has done...covers, originals.....it will take time to go thru all of them....but I can tell you in their 10 yrs I've never seen a bad music video. Here are some more suggestions...sounds of silence, royals, mad world, imagine, cant hold us, can you feel the love tonite, problem, wizard of ahhhs (a montage of 16 pop songs made to tell the story of wizard of oz) (how many can u guess?..lol), You did daft punk which they won their first of 3 grammys for...the other 2 are dance of the sugar plum fairies and jolene W/dolly parton, attention, and so many more. Some originals are sing, love again, happy now, love me when i dont, coffee in bed, be my eyes, a little space, never gonna cry again, the lucky ones. Another album they released during the pandemic was "home" which each song was recorded separately at their own homes on zoom (without hearing the other members parts) and then mixed...songs include...home, blinding lights, when the party's over break my heart and dreams. You're far from the first person who was disappointed when it ended. I would actually love to hear them do each of these songs in their entirety. 😄As for your cartoon filter, I'm really liking it. Some reactors haven't figured out the filtering thing yet and will literally stop the video every 15-20 seconds, which is super annoying. Your filter helps you and we can still tell what's going on with all the singers. Most Pentaholics are pretty understanding of what needs to be done, and would not complain about this cool filter! 😉

Subscribed after your first two videos, really enjoy your reactions! The filter is actually pretty cool, just a tip if you want to change it, you only need to put the filter over the video itself, not your face as well, although, it still looks really cool! For more Pentatonix, there's a bunch you can do for different reasons. I'll put some down below with the reasons I think you should! Daft Punk Medley - this song earned them their first Grammy and really put them on the map, it's also similar to this in terms of it being a medley and dance songs with effects that shouldn't be possible with just voices. Jolene with Dolly Parton - earned them another Grammy, as well as Dolly finally earning her Grammy for Jolene! Say Something - really showcases Kirstie, she often gets a little bit drowned out in their earlier stuff because she can harmonize with Mitch so well and Mitch is center stage because of how incredible he is. Also, Kevin (the beatboxer) plays cello and beatboxes in this song, it's incredible. Imagine - beautiful song that they really do justice to. Also you'll see Kevin singing at high tenor which is fairly insane. Love Me When I Don't - they have a live version, it's an original song with a great message, Kirstie wrote it, and the live version is actually another level up from the album version. A Little Space - both the original which they wrote and the LMNT mix that there's a video for are super dope. Obviously there's so many more, and you can choose any song and not have a bad experience because it's PTX! Have fun on this journey and keep being as upbeat as you are, it's so cool to see someone so hyped about this stuff!

I'm the same when it comes to the time frame for these songs. In Toronto, Ontario, Canada there is CHUM AM radio. When I was a kid, they played all the new music. Now it is an Oldies Station. The play list has not changed. LOL

The original bass singer you're thinking of, with the beard and long hair, is Avi. He left the group on 2017 and was replaced by Matt, the bass in this video. Both are great. Avi has some solo stuff that is worth a listen, especially "Change On The Rise."

So these are all 90's dance hits except for everytime we touch... While that song was released originally in 1992 by Maggie Reilly the version they sang which is the dance track is from Cascada in 2005. The original from the 90's is absolutely not a dance track at all.
