Just a note. If you increase the level of your ports to say 10, any ship that is stationed there will have their ranged increased. Not talking about docks, Ports.

Watched all your tutorials, so thanks for that :) My problem is, i'm trying to force myself to love the game, as i loved CK2 so much, and missed out on the Hearts of Iron series, but this game bores me silly! I've tried and tried to love it, but within 15 minutes i'm bored out of my mind. Is there any hope for me? Same goes for Stallaris. Love Civ4/5/6; CK2, but those two, can't seem to get into.

Thanks for watching! That sucks to hear, my advice would be to just play the game how you want to, try not to get caught up in a lot of the noise in the hoi4 community of playing the most "meta" way. If you find you're bored by the pre-war stuff, you could also try the 1939 start!

Hey, I appreciate all the help you’ve given us beginners, but I had a question. I noticed you skipped over the "Total Mobilization" option in the economy law, and when I had a look, I noticed a heavy Recruitable population penalty. However, in decisions, there is an option for "Women in the workforce" which undoes that problem. So if if I just do that, why not go total Mobilization?

Thank you! More than happy to help! And yes, total mob is a great option, but make sure you've got 250pp before you go to that to offset the manpower lost with women in the workforce! Dunno why I forgot that, great catch!

It's not always helpful, but it's good to know to build in high infra states first!

It was one of the earliest things I found out, and thank God for that. I would’ve had SO much frustration if I didn’t know I was supposed to built up the streets and such first, before making factories (or ANYTHING) in those areas. (and more importantly, START by building factories in places that are at Level 5: 100% first, and make sure to take national focuses that automatically add Infrastructure to places so I don’t accidentally waste time. (Italy, the National Highways 35 Day Focus automatically bumps 4 provinces to max infrastructure and 2 of those have room to add factories to them.)

Question, I noticed you are able to build two lines of buildings at once in this guide. I have a Romania game going, and can only build one line of buildings at one time. What effects that exactly? I think i only have 20 civs currently.

This is due to at least 5 of your civs being drained by other uses. My guess: you either have a high percentage of your civs drained by consumer goods or importing raw materials. Check your building tab and see in the top left corner how many civs are actually available for construction. Once that number reaches 16 there is nothing stopping you from having two builds active at the sametime.

Genuine question 3:48: why would I change my trade law if I am losing civs if I could just reduce the number of civs I am trading for a resource? What is the difference between these two action?

Different trade laws affect your construction speed, free trade has the best bonus for it, plus with more resources to the market you get more civs from other countries trading with you!

Yeah I would recommend only building infra where you would gain resources from :)

You say civs will repair mils. So do they need to be in the same province?

Nope! Your civs will work on anything in your construction queue from top to bottom, however there's also a passive repair effect on your damaged buildings. You can move them to the top of your construction queue to have them be repaired faster though!

Is there any reason to not Que a ton of one type of factory at a time? I isually just shift click to build the maximum ammount of factories in a territory.

Nah not really, unless you want to build a certain amount of one type and the rest of another! For example, as Germany or Italy I'll build the max amount of 3 refineries per state, so I want to leave enough room for that, so I don't max out the civ/mils in states until I've done that

@@hammotimee I figured out that it is maybe a bit better to just make what I need as I go. Trading for steel? Build steel mills. I tried to play as communist Japan and I wanted to take Taiwan (the republic of china) back from the manqin empire. But even though I was selecting the naval port on the southern part of mainland Japan, it would not let select the area in manqin Taiwan even though I was at war woth them amd had 100% naval superiority.

I haven't played millenium dawn, build civs early, and look for focuses in your tree which give you bonus factories

Great question! They're a late game tech, they have smaller range than planes do, they're super expensive and single use. Basically strat bombers are much more effective and cost effective! And for new players especially, they're not really worth worrying about when learning the game
