“Industry On Parade was a television series created by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) from 1950-1960. The series consisted of weekly episodes that highlighted American manufacturing and business. Hundreds of companies and products were documented during the [program’s] decade-long run.”
In the December 1953 episode (164) of Industry On Parade, viewers learn about the harvesting and processing of cranberries. At a cranberry bog on Cape Cod, MA (00:48), men and women use a traditional scoop to harvest the berries. At the National Cranberry Association Plant in Hanson, MA, debris is removed from the berries using a blower (01:38). The soundness of the berries is tested by bouncing them, and then they are examined by a woman (02:10) as they move along a conveyer belt. A cook stirs a batch of cranberries in a large pot (02:36). The cooked cranberries are canned on the canning line (02:36), and then the cans are cooled in a roto-cooler. Finally, the cans of cranberries are boxed for shipping (03:44).
The next segment is “On The Map!” Two pilots look at a map while in the cockpit of a commercial airline jet (05:00). At the Jeppeson and Co. company in Denver, CO, women create new maps (05:36). A man prepares a new map for photographing and engraving (05:55). Etching emulsion is poured on a machine that creates the metal plates used for printing new charts and maps (06:18). A cartographer works on a topographical map (07:40).
At the Indiana Steel Products Company in Valparaiso, IN (09:13), magnets are produced using different methods. Men create magnets using molds, while a woman makes a magnet using powder metallurgy (09:44). The magnets are demagnetized prior to shipping (10:10).
The final segment of this episode is “Artistry In Industry!” At the Museum of Modern Art in New York, women browse displays of home furnishing goods from various American companies (11:32). Children look at various toy prints (12:24) in another exhibit hall.

The map maker featured here is Jeppeson Maps, not Jepperson. They are also involved in publishing training manuals for pilots and also maintenance manuals for the industry. The literature that I have is from when they were called Jeppeson-Sanderson. They are currently owned by Boeing and are still in business today.

What thermostats are those at 8:55? Someone gave me the one on the left when I was little and I still have it!

They appear to have been made by Honeywell if I can read the image well enough. Since they were one of the major quality manufactures of thermostats for near forever i suspect that I'm reading the name right. These look more like commercial thermostats than home use, but I could be wrong. Many of the commercial thermostats of that era were pneumatic rather than electrical. That is, they used "air switches" that would switch the flow of air or vacuum in small tubes. This was piped to the heating or cooling unit, and would there turn switches on or off to start and stop motors and compressors, or to operate air cylinders to open and close dampers and the like.

So I dug it up and it is a Honeywell type t44a but it is 110 and 220 and not like what you described and it’s way too utilitarian to be for the home and of course google doesn’t find anything so there you go. I never saw the place it came out of so I can’t be certain of its environment either.

And those cranberrys are made even more American now because they add high fructose corn syrup to those cans of sauce.

Somehow, the metric of three million cans an hour seem absurd just counting the conveyor line movements.

He said a million cans in three hours, but even that appears to be a little bit over reality
