My thoughts: 2010: Kinda forgettable, not that bad, could be worse. 2011: What a shocking end that was. Heartbreaking at first, but then you realize what happened to the winner of that race (R.I.P.), you start to feel happy that he won (at least I did). 2012: Once again, a shocking end. Definitely heartbreaking, but considering that the driver that wrecked on the final lap would get redemption a few years later, I'd still say I feel kinda bad for him in this race. 2013: One of the best races I've ever seen, such a shame it ended under caution. 2014: The first ever Indy 500 (and Indycar race in general) that I ever watched live, and good lord, what a race it was. Still gives me chills watching the last 6 laps every single time I see them. 2015: I've never personally cared for the winner of this race, but it was still a very exciting race to the end. 2016: A pretty nice upset, not the best race ever, but still decent. 2017: I love this race, especially considering what happened to the winner five years prior. Seeing him get his redemption was so satisfying. 2018: I'd say the most boring Indy 500 I've seen so far, the winner was pretty cool, but the race kinda sucked. 2019: Yet again, another fantastic finish. Two of the best current Indycar drivers duking it out (just like in 2012 and 2014-2015) for the biggest win of the season. Was an absolutely sensational race.

@jtp20073 жыл бұрын
agreed. It is a series where you have to be good on all types of tracks to win championships. Look at the 2021 season: We have had 7 different winners in 8 races and 4 of those drivers won their 1st race (Palou, O'ward, Veekay and Ericsson). Castroneves winning his record tying 4th 500. Dixon still being one of the best drivers on the planet and Colton Herta is a young stud of a driver. Also add to that the list of drivers who have NOT won a race - Newgarden, Power, Pagenaud, Rossi, Rahal, Hunter-Reay, Hinchcliffe, Bourdais and Sato. That is a further 9 drivers that are more than capable of winning a race every week. That is 16 drivers that can legit win a race every single week. That does not even include other drivers that could just find ways to win. It is extremely competitive.

David, as usual your channel produces some of the best auto racing content on You Tube. I give you the vote for the very best due to ur undying passion for the Indianapolis 500. That being said my vote for the VERY BEST decade would be that of the 1960's, "The Decade of Change". The diversity of car builds, engine types, the draw for so many multidiscipline drivers ie; NASCAR, F1, dirt Champ Car, Sprints and asphalt Indy Car entries along with the early decade dominance of the venerable roadsters then giving way to the rear engine cars (really mid-engine but sometimes, in that era, called "Funny Cars.") I really admire your total adherence to Indy Car over all other series of Auto Sport. Please, from a long time fan of your content, an overview of 1960's and 1970's Indianapolis 500 decades would bring sheer joy not only to myself but, I would wager a guess, to the many, many of your fans who are long time devotees of the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing." Please keep up your great work but also remember the evolution of N/A, Turbo Charged, Turbine, 4 and 8 cylinder engines along with the radical improvements in aerodynamics leading major breathtaking leaps of lap speeds from one year to the next. I would really be honored if you would read this comment, maybe even respond to my thoughts. Stay in good health and know I will keep watching your channel!!!
