Heiress Huguette Clark is the subject of this salacious article in the Indianapolis Star on January 28, 1928. After her father, William A. Clark died in 1925, Huguette became an heir to his massive fortune which spawned claims from people around the country for a piece of his fortune.

$333 a day (or $17,316/year) was a tidy sum in 1928. $333 in today's dollars would be $,4,946; the value of $17,316 would be $257,211 in today's dollar. Not really a lot, but still not too shabby.
