That Texas race was fun because the second groove practice helped for second groove to work, if there was more ovals Milwaukee is one, Homestead (if nascar can stop blocking Indy), Kansas, Chicagoland and Michigan. As for Texas in its current configuration I feel there will be a change but I hope they can make both indycar and nascar work with a surface thats perfect (along with good banking). One of the biggest problems facing INDYCAR's oval expansion recently has been ISC and speedway motorsports, many ovals that fans want INDYCARs on are owned by those two and they seem very reluctant about letting INDYCAR come... Hopefully Roger Penske can change that.

It's a two-way street. NASCAR has been open to doing double headers at their tracks, but they want Indycar as the opening act. Indycar seems reluctant to admit that they aren't the premier racing series in the nation so they haven't taken the opportunity. Too much pride on both sides.

This is part of the reason Indycar is my favorite racing series in the world. It seems to have struck a perfect balance of everything that makes motor racing superb. I think that Darlington, the Roval, and Watkins Glen would be fantastic! And maybe you could throw on Pocono too, if you spread it out from Watkins Glen. Though I'd love to see an international at Hermanos Rodriguez too.

Darlington does sound cool, bud a lot of cars, if not, everyone would DNF because if they hit the wall once, suspensions break. They actually did race at Darlington 4 times back in the 50s. Yo I agree! I remember going to Texas Motor Speedway back in June of 08 with my dad for the Indycar race and Robbie Knievel jumped Hummers on the frontstrech before the race and seeing those Indycars hit the tunnel turn and sparks fly! Dude... it was an epic race! I remember going back to Texas where fans went down to the track and I remember shaking as me and my dad were getting closer and closer to the track and I remember trying to run to the banking and into the safer barrier and hit it with my fist... after that I laid on the grass and it was like "Ahhhh..." But for Indycar to return to ovals will be quite interesting... Richmond isn't bad... I remember watching Indycar race at Twin Ring Motegi on the oval until 2011 when they raced on the road course for the final time... but for them to travel overseas nowadays would be a challenge... it's a great facility in Japan despite Danica Patrick's only win there... They used to race at New Hampshire which seems like a possibility... The Nashville Fairgrounds should be a good spot. Milwaukee is a classic.

The ideal calendar that I want. ROAD COURSES/STREET CIRCUITS Surfer's Paradise St. Petersburg Elkhart Lake Detroit Belle Isle Nashville Watkins Glen Toronto Cleveland Mid-Ohio Barber Motorsports Park Long Beach Laguna Seca OVALS Homestead Texas Motor Speedway Indianapolis Gateway Phoenix Iowa Milwaukee Mile Michigan Speedway Las Vegas Pocono Richmond Kentucky As an European fan, it would be great to have some 50/50 Rc-Ovals schedule for many reasons... 1)Encourage veterans, oval specialists and young guns to give it a go in a part time schedule with a good number of races that could encourage them to race during the season. 2)In fact, recreate the "Sub-standings" with the Mario Andretti Trophy for Road Courses and A.J. Foyt Trophy for Ovals. 3)Recreate a 500 miles Triple Crown of oval racing with the Indy 500, the Pocono 500 and the old Marlboro 500 at Michigan Speedway, making them the crown jewel events of Indycar and allow a wider field for the races at Pocono and Michigan. Outside of the track, another thing that I would like is to see back again the old CART Series Scoring Points system (20-16-14-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1, 1 point for pole, 1 point for the most laps led). Then we could have more engine suppliers, bringing back Ford, Toyota, Mercedes... More fans on the grandstands than yesterday and at that point it would be a perfect championship! Apart from this, we have already a great show and a great racing, F1 should learn a lot from Indycar on how to make great racing and don't cause a rigged mess!

I would like to see 22 races with 8 on ovals. Add Michigan and Pocono and bring back the 500 mile Triple Crown, also add Milwaukee. If they can't run at New Texas, then go back to Homestead. I like the current lineup of US/Canada road and street courses, but add races in Argentina and Mexico to build additional international interest. Competing with F1 like they did in the early '90s is highly unlikely anytime in the near future and perhaps a fool's errand. However, I can see them becoming the Western Hemisphere's open wheel series if they do it right (which, of course, they have almost always managed to do it wrong).

Chicagoland, Homestead and Richmond make a lot of sense. The first two have 20 degrrees or less banking, which is what Txas has in turn 1/2 and their both wide tracks, leaving lots of room for 2 and 3 wide racing on restarts, then spreading out the field on long runs due to the old, worn surface. I think I would be more invested in the sport itself if Indycar had more oval racing because there are quite frankly too many road course races on the schedule and having more oval races for Indycar can help increase TV ratings. The oval tracks I believe Indycar should go to are Las Vegas, of course, Kansas, Homestead, Charlotte, and maybe Chicagoland.

I’d like to see the Milwaukee mile and Michigan return to the schedule for sure. Maybe the Atlanta oval. Also the Daytona road course would be interesting. Texas was awesome, I just hope it doesn’t get repaved again the track surface was perfect, hell even the truck race the day before was pretty good too.

Las Vegas, Michigan, homestead, Kansas, Kentucky. Not all gonna happen but I can hope. I also hope they can get the prime time tv window so the Texas, Iowa, and gateway races can be at night again because that produces better racing.

I grew up in Milwaukee in the '60s, just 10 mi from the Milwaukee mile and that's where my dad took me to see the first IndyCar race in June of 1965 for the Rex Mays classic 150 and from that time on I was hooked on Indy Car. It was always the weekend following the Indy 500 and it was referred to as the Indy rematch. I couldn't wait for them to return in August for the Bettenhausen 200. In 1983 I moved to Cincinnati and was thrilled to be only a hundred miles away from the Indianapolis motor speedway. I would go every year for the entire month of May, I wouldn't miss a day of practice leading up to the race, it was awesome. And then something amazing happened, Kentucky built a speedway in Sparta Ky (42 miles s. of CVG) and it opened in 2000 to host the first IndyCar race to a sellout crowd. IndyCar continued to race yearly at the Kentucky speedway through 2011 to some incredible and exciting racing. Unfortunately as the years went by so did the drop in attendance due to NASCAR dominating the racing schedule at the speedway. NASCAR pulled the plug in 2020 on the speedway and today it sits inactive with no races scheduled for the foreseeable future. How sad. I have more years behind me than I do in front of me and I keep hoping that Indy car will come back to Kentucky so I can enjoy watching those amazing races on that incredible track at least one more time. After watching Texas this past weekend I hope this will be the momentum needed to get more ovals back on the schedule. It is the foundation of Indy Car.

Having been a indycar fan for life I think that the old C.A.R.T formula of half road/street courses and the other half ovals was great. Since NASCAR has sold off most of Fontana, Michigan is still a good one, but a couple of short tracks would be good. Also 20 + race season would be really nice. Hopefully the Captain will be able to make it happen.

Vegas resident myself I really hope IndyCar comes back to the speedway. Not just cause of the good racing and make peace with what happened in the past, but also because there's no way it can afford to abandon the city to Formula 1

I've been saying Daly's thought for years. We would have to remove a few street tracks and road courses from the schedule as well if we were just going by where people died or got seriously injured. Pocono kept growing it's fan base over those 7 years, that should have never left the schedule.

As an European fan (Spanish) I started watching Indycar when Alex Palou started getting some nice results during the 2021 season. At first I didn't like oval, couldn't understand most of the time what was happening and I saw them as "just turning left while occasionally lifting the throttle". But as time has passed I've really started enjoying them and last weekend's race in Texas was the confirmation of that.

Milwaukee & Indy Car go back way before CART days. Oldest track next to Indy. 1903. Had open wheel racing there up till 2016. My dad started going there in 1946. Open wheel racing then. I went from 1971 through last race in July 2015.

That was the best oval race outside of the Indy 500 since Fontana 2015 I use to attend every Indycar race at Kansas from 2001-2010 the ovals have been kinda dull since 2018 this was a step in the right direction yesterday

MILWAUKEE Mile Races in the 80's was grown man racing. Wasn't for kids drive hard or get driven off the track. It's historic Mario AJ Johnny Rutherford the Unsers even back to Vukavich. That's what makes winning a race and winning a RACE.

Second grove practice …… should always be used for ovals going forwards ……👍 my dream 20 race season … max 6 street tracks (any less use more road courses) … then 6 road courses then 6 ovals ( 2 mile/small ovals 2 intermediate ovals then Indy 500 and one out off Fontana/Michigan /pocono as 2nd super speedway…… leaves 2 races each year which can be either changed each year or my favourite hybrid tracks … so Rio oval copy ( if it was rebuilt somewhere else with a deep tire/ safer wall(s) … Cleveland airport could come under this as does Indy current road course and f1 road course with the banked last corner and virtually any other roval course … would love to see an Daytona indycar roval race …!

I was in the stands and a Pato 'Oward fan. It was incredible to see in person! When that last caution came out my hat hit the ground hard. I was sure he could beat Newgarden to the line. Also the speed of those cars are incredible, 220mph. I found some empty seats in the front row and watched those cars fly by, then they are off in the distance before you know it. The cameras don't do it justice just how fast they are going.

I'm definitely keen to see more ovals on the schedule. My favorites from the 90's (before the CART/IRL split) were Milwaukee Mile and New Hampshire. These are "bullrings" in Indycar terms, but I loved the cut-&-thrust racing in traffic that they produced! Many Aussies simply don't understand oval racing, but as a longtime sprint car racing fan I appreciate the side-by-side racing and "amphitheater" vibe that goes along with it. I try to tell people it's like being part of a big crowd at a football game, except a car race happens instead.

To me, MIS seems like a no brainer. Close enough to Indiana to attract the core fanbase. Also Conor is spot on, Indianapolis has had so many deaths but we all love it, racing is dangerous that's kinda part of it.
