My buddy Vern showed up and I put him to work. I'll teach him not to hang around me, lol. Fitting floor pans in the Duster and they look great. Thanks for the help, Vern. You are The Man!

I just subscribe to you I did sheet metal on my front floor pans but temporary. When I took the front floor out it was welded to the frame rails. I guess from they weld it like that cause to the body from flexing.

Dang the pans look great, what is the other lever next to the shifter?
@indyme24 жыл бұрын
The floor pans do look great, Leonard. Surprised at how well they fit. The lever next to the shifter is part of the shifter linkage. When we removed the console that's the first thing I saw. Wondered what the heck is that. Kind of a strange set up but I guess it works. Vern is a Javelin fan. If we can make some room, I think we can get back to work on it. It's inside and it is getting cold. A warm shop works in the Javelins favor, lol. Thanks for stopping in.

I did floor pans on my 73 Duster but i did with sheet metal but I'm going replaced with original pans. Not trying to be funny, are you suppose to weld pans to the frame rails?
@indyme24 жыл бұрын
I weld pans to the original pans and to floor supports. These will be lapped like the factory did and plug welded. There may be some butt welding in areas too but not much. After, I will use seam sealer top and bottom. Will probably do a video on the rest of this repair. Thanks for watching and good luck on yours.
@keithsims864 жыл бұрын
I was looking at video and the guy not mentioned his name but on A B and C body car have spot weld on the middle floor pans to the frame rails to support body flexibility. I ribbet sheet metal to the floors not thinking about the body flexing. You doing a good job on that car.I see Videos of people doing body work on A B and C body cars.
@indyme24 жыл бұрын
@@keithsims86 You are correct. We weld the floors to each other, to the floor supports and to the frame rails. Thanks.
