The 1961 Impalas were my favorite. There's nothing like a Turbo Fire with Powerglide.

Yes Sir. If I wasn't already over loaded with projects I would jump on this one. I would just get it mechanically safe, throw some more blankets over the seats, floor patches and drive as is for a while. Thanks for stopping in!

I know you’ve done a few videos at Classic Cars of SC so I thought you should know that on almost every vehicle description on their website says they are closing and the cars must go. I don’t know whether it’s true. But I thought of your channel when I saw that. Here’s to hoping they stay around longer!
@indyme24 ай бұрын
It's true. Was at Ron's last week and he confirmed the "pending" sale. He is going to re-open at his house with fewer cars as he has less land there. Going into semi-retirement but now giving up the gig completely. Will miss this location but frontage road property along I-385 is big $$$.Thanks for the info.
@oldcarzrule25274 ай бұрын
@@indyme2 What a shame. It seems the killer of old junkyards is high property value and retirement.Is he selling the property, business, or both?

That back glass has to be leaking in order for that rust hole to be up high in the trunk because thy usually don't rust there unless the back window leaks and if it leaks there may be some unseen rust around the back window but for the age of that car it's in good shape find a Bel air or Biscayne parts car and you b set
@indyme27 ай бұрын
I agree with your observation. Never seen one that doesn't leak at that back glass when it gets that old. I'm sure who ever buys it will know enough to make the repairs. Thanks for watching!

Power steering is the slave cylinder type in the linkage not on the box.

Not sure, John. That car had just arrived and it was not marked on the windshield. Call Ron. He has the title work complete now and will have it priced. Or check online at his web site. Should be listed there. Thanks for watching.

I would probably have made the same decision. I would be tempted if it was a 62 bubble top or biscayne. Thanks for watching, Tim.

Another nice find. A place I worked at years ago as maintenance mechanic on the third shift the shift supervisor was redoing a 64 and he needed a lot of parts for it. Since I supported the machine shop I had access to the shop and you would be surprised how many custom parts were made at night. It helped me too, he couldn't say much when I was making something for my cars. Are you going to let this one follow you home, you need a few more projects. Talk to you later.
@davidpancerev96587 ай бұрын
Manual steering kinda sux, Lots of potential, requires much elbow grease. Aluminum case PG tranny was intro for 1963, I believe. And these cars were notorious for floorboard rust-out.
