Can't the job module be used without specifying a bill to customer? How can the job module function be used for expense tracking?

Hi I've watched this video a couple of times and I like it, but my company does large jobs that can contain hundreds of individual items all have to be purchased or fabricated. Based on this video, do all of those individual items need to be added to the job so costs can be accumulated? We also work with assemblies - most of those individual purchased parts roll up to various assemblies - would it be possible to put the assembly on the job as a planning line and because the assembly accumulates the costs of the individual items the job would capture the costs accurately? The assembly completion would be more in line with progress billing milestones and job tasks as we typically lay them out. It would be great to see this module in a few videos and done in Business Central. We also do progress billings for our jobs and track engineering hours (as budget hours) so timesheets would be great too!

+Pius Oreva Thanks for your comment. There are add-ons that do connect. Natively, NAV does not connect to MS Project.

iNECTA - Microsoft Dynamics. Thank you for the prompt response. I would like to ask if it's possible to work across platforms and how can one achieve such?

You could write code to integrate through web services or like Stefanetti did in his blog: robertostefanettinavblog.com/2015/06/17/export-data-from-ms-project-mpp-files-to-others-systems/ Or you could skip MS project and attach a scheduling system to NAV like PlannerOne www.plannerone.com/for-nav/

Thanks for the response. At what point does the WIP (Work In Progress) comes into play going by your presentation?
@inecta-Food-ERP6 жыл бұрын
I would always do the WIP in NAV. Scheduling in Planner One or MS Project
