Bro, finally someone else watches this masterpiece for the first time. There are way too few reactions to it. And you're watching it in the sub?! That's hype.

I'm only on episode 4, and I'm already finding myself at the edge of my seat. I can't wait for what's coming next!

Not sure if anyone else answered that in later videos, or if you found out yourself, but here´s the trivia: 1) Front wheel drive (or FWD for short) means that your engine powers only your front wheels. Your rear wheels are just dragged along. It´s quite a common arrangement, especially for typical grocery getters. Honda Civic, or Ford Mondeo, or similar cars. It´s great because it´s simple, compact (doesnt need a shaft underneath the whole car), and ultimately cheap. Plus it´s also very easy to control. It´s very unlikely to spin the car, and if your car spins for whatever reason, all you have to do is point the wheels forward and push the accelerator. The downside is that it´s probably the most boooring arrangement, which offers the least sporty abilities. Basically at least 95% of FWD cars are boring grocery getters. 2) Itsuki is looking for anything with some sporty potential. Japan at that time produced a lot of various types of semi-cheap sports cars. A lot of them weren´t even much more powerful than grocery getters (often even using the same engine). But they were typically rear wheel drive, and lighter, thus faster and more fun. Itsuki wants a used car due to not having nearly enough money for a new one. His first choice is the Toyota Corolla Sprinter Trueno, series AE86, commonly known as just 86 (before Toyota started making GT86 in 2012 and GR86 in 2020s), which is a 1980s car, so at that time is about 15 years old. Its basically a factory-upgraded grocery getter, which is easy to slide sideways in a drift, but otherwise kinda weak due to a relatively weak engine. 3) Iketani already has a decent sports car. His Nissan Silvia series S13 may even be a brand new car at that time, and it´s a well rounded RWD sportscar with decent-ish power, and predictable handling (due to relatively long chassis). It´s not an extreme car by no means, but is very much serviceable for any amateur. 4) Inertia drift is a general term for a drift that wasn´t initiated by brute power on the rear wheels, nor by pulling the handbrake. Instead it it initiated by deliberately destabilizing the car with basic steering and braking. What Takumi did was continue with the inertia drift by doing a Scandinavian flick, which means that he suddenly increased the angle of counter steering and let go of the accelerator, which shifted the weight off the rear wheels and pointed the nose towards the next corner.

Yeah let's go bro, finally another KZbinr with a good reaction watching initial d for the first time. Bro by the end of the show you at least gonna have somewhat of a knowledge about cars just like this other KZbinr called JayKReacts who had no clue!

Thanks for tuning in!🙌🏼 Definitely looking forward to expanding my knowledge on cars and what makes them unique🤞🏼

The inertia drift is just a scandi flick. You slide the rear end out then flick it back to the other side for a really aggressive entry angle. (Not an expert, just a huge fan of the show)

Thank you for the terminology lesson!🙌🏼 I'm hoping that I can learn more about cars and driving by watching this anime; so far, it's dope as hell!

The funniest part is that modern drifting is so developed that an "inertia drift" is understood to be extremely basic and standard for being able to link entire tracks. Watch some formula drift highlights if you wanna know what I mean.

@Mousyy Thank you for the insight!🙌🏼 I’ll take a look at it when I get the chance
