In the infamous paper trail there is a quiz online that you can take to earn karma in game and one of the questions asks about what happened in New Marais and it said "Approximately 90% of conduits all over the world mysteriously died when The Beast was destroyed in New Marais. But some conduits managed to survive-even some who were present at New Marais at the time of The Beast’s destruction. To this day, we do not know why some perished and others survived, but we suspect some kind of Ray Field Radiation event occurred." Not the most solid explanation but they left it open to elaborate on in the next installment if there is one.

Maybe with canonical "good" ending where Cole sacrifices himself and all non conduits, the genes for being a conduit didn't get wiped out. Just the living conduits died. So the non conduits can have kids who just may have some dormant conduit genes that can be unlocked due to whatever reasons. That can possibly explain why all conduits are not extinct when infamous second son comes out. Just a reach in the dark but something to think on lol.

My guess for the conduits surviving was that somehow those with the gene but weren't active yet survived. It's flimsy, given that one would assume that simply having the gene would mean the RFI would kill regardless of the gene being active or not, but this is comic book writing, so it's not totally outside the realm of what you'd see in such fiction. Still, they could have maybe gone for a longer time skip and have it that the gene somehow resurfaced. In any case, I'd still like to see them explore the evil ending, either with a powerful Cole having to decide the final fate of the world or a new conduit character who tries to usher in peace with the new world order.

Honestly, after just playing second son, I think there is much potential in the evil ending combined with the good ending of the second. Its implied that the lightning bolt that hit the boat could have revived cole and Delsin when pushed tends to seem power hungry even in good cutscenes and the evil ending could lead to a distaught Delsin slowly losing it and becoming the new beast with all the powers he gathers

If I was sucker punch I would release a remaster the first two games adding a new ending (which requires completion of both of the other endings which is easier with some of the changes to the remaster such as making the choices more impactful) to the first two games being called the ture neutral ending (it requires a perfect mix off selfish and selfless orders and a combination actions that is given half of in each ending (so long as you are still on the true neutral path and have complete the second sewer level or blast core in the cass of two you will unlock a third tree which requires the cost of both sides of the upgrade (you also have Kessler style yellow powers of both games whilst on the true neutral path which will retroactively lead into second son as the key difference between the true neutral ending and original is that he ends up becoming and he still ends up using the RFI but but hesitates halfway through usage causing it to only kill the best and have instead locked him in a coma as his actions cured the plague before it could spread to far (in this ending Kuo and nix survive due to there proximity to him allowing them to absorb the energy from the beast which is directed at cole when John gives up saying that I know you wi succeed where I failed the endings lighting strike is revealed to be that be a storm which reacted to his power striking him head on and revealing to Zeke his survival which then kicks of the next gams which I can see several approaches to such playing as nix and Kuo through there own stories or cole in his own mind as he puts himself back together for the first chunk of it in a sort of driver San Francisco sort of fashion

Well actually its not really a guarantee on 2's good ending infact its actually made painfully clear that the good ending is a leep of faith gambling with the fate of all sentient life as it could just kill all the conduits and not stop the plague as wolf lied to you and you know he was tortured by conduits and he might have just been holding a grudge infact 95% of the fan base agrees the evil ending is what thay would have considered the good ending. As the good ending was well most likely going to end in extinction but just about all the fan base plays as hero cole and were conditioned through both games theres a penalty for paradigm shifts just suddenly going evil for the final mission is well no one did it so you see the veiws we had at the time years later we found out that for once there was no cost to change paths point is good ending is canon because of a over sight of the creators no message about hoe you're choice didn't affect the character and they kinda either expected everyone to just be evil witch was not how the fan base perceived cole McGrath despite we all belived he'd take the bad ending.

The ray sphere imploding in the first infamous is what caused John to obtain his powers So if Kesler didn't try to move the ray sphere or John didn't "help" (He didn't do much) on the docks, he wouldn't have become the beast. But that was a test for Cole, so Kesler was gonna do it no matter what. Which means if John wasn't such a hero, he wouldn't be the beast

Also this would be a great way to explain how kessler (cole) and the beast got their powers without a RAy sphere, and perhaps even explain why conduits exist after coles sacrifice. My personal idea is that sometime in 2013/14 after kessler (cole) got married to trish, the world was hit by a solar flare that contained ray field radiation, which gave conduits powers in the kessler timeline but also in the second son timeline. kessler then goes back in time and takes over the first sons to create a device that would recreate the solar flare via ray sphere

Just one comment. Its mentioned in dead drops Kessler tends to vanish for years on end and looks exactly the same when he returns. It's more or less saying he travels fowards in time as well as back and so the time frame more likely he travels back to around 1937-47. Hes still most likely in his 50-60 because he does stick around to age for years

Note: the only reason why the good endings are cannon is because they go off of the trophies. More people have picked the good ending in every game so it always based off of the good ending. If more people did the bad ending, the sequels would be based off the bad endings.

Second Son spits on Cole's sacrifice in 2's good ending by allowing conduits to live. Cole should have been selfish and sacrificed humanity if the RFI wasn't going to kill all conduits anyway. 2's evil ending was morally grey as one could argue that Cole was just leading the next step in evolution. If Sucker Punch really wanted a new protagonist, they could have kept Delsin but placed his story in the evil version of 2's ending. Maybe he could have gone up against Cole and Kuo, who become corrupt with power or something. Also, I'm still miffed that Sasha's status is unknown. I think it was hinted that she and Kessler had a relationship, and I think her tar mind control powers were interesting. I want to know how things ended for her, and I want to know more about Alden and the First Sons.

Everyone is always like why are Conduits called Bioterrorists? I think it's because Zeke is a pretty unreliable narrator. In Infamous he lied to Cole and tried to get superpowers, and even without that he's a shifty guy. He's known to embellish things about Cole so people are impressed by Zeke and to a certain extent Cole aswell. So it leads me to believe that the common public thinks that Cole McGrath isn't a hero, but a terrorist killing others based on traits or features no one can see using the symptoms of his biological mutations, i.e. a Bioterrorist.

I've always maintained that Second Son shouldn't have happened with either ending and I irrationally hate it because of that. Not that I even have a PS4 to try playing it...even though infamous is the exact reason I got a PS3

I still remember zeke's face in the bad ending from infamous 2 :( is like one of the characters that i remember the most in all gaming, after playing 1 and 2 i really liked zeke so it hurt me a lot to whatch that ending

I always figured Kessler and conduits in general had a longer lifespan then normal human I always thought that Kessler came back sometime in the 50s or 60s but I guess I was wrong. great video tho

I like that theory at the end a time fuck up and good and bad version of conduits and their allies and with a little switch between characters and/or online coop

Personally, I think there ultimately was an evolution of Conduits that I'll dub Gen. 2 Conduits that siphon much less from non-Conduits. These Gen. 2 Conduits are also at least partially immune to the weapon that killed off the Gen. 1 Conduits. That's my explanation. I wish they'd at least said something like this so we'd know what's going on and why there's still Conduits. Considering Conduits are likely meant to be an evolution of humanity, one can assume a select group of them continued evolving, leading to what we have in Second Son with some of the ones born later being immune to that weapon in Infamous 2.

inFamous is still one of my all time favorite game franchises. Granted, I do believe that inFamous 2 should have been the final installment because it was the perfect resolution for the storyline. However, Second Son was a nice take on a potential future for the franchise, and although it wasn’t perfect, it was open ended enough for the possibility of another inFamous game to come true later on down the line. Hopefully, Sony releases a Remastered Trilogy Bundle Edition on the PS5 because I would be so down to cop that. 💯
