The biggest scam genshin ever pulled was convincing the community that terrible rates with 50/50 pity is normal according to so many self proclaimed gacha ‘veterans’ who probably didn’t even know what a gacha is until they started genshin. They think 5 years of experience makes them know everything there is to know.

​@puenboy1 tbh hoyoverse's gacha practices were already super predatory before genshin's 50/50 mechanic was introduced. HI3 required you to pull for characters, their sig weapon AND their stigmata if you wanted to be competitive in ranked, and the rate of powercreep is insane too so your current meta valk wouldn't last you very long. The 50/50 system is actually less punishing than that overall and their current gacha practices no longer require you to pull for gear on top of sig weapons, so I'd argue that it was an improvement. Genshin's popularity has made this system the "gold standard" for other developers to follow since potential players are likely familiar with this system instead of another and because the formula works. The problem is that the 50/50 really sucks, I wish more gachas would do something like Aether Gazer or Snowbreak where they have a guaranteed banner with higher pity alongside the 50/50 banner.

I dont get complaining about the gacha system. If youve played enough gacha then you know its called "gatcha" for a reason. They either getcha with good rates or getcha with bad rates. But they will getcha if you play.

nah thats not it. We all know the risks of gambling, what we hate is that they're copying the Genshin format of gacha. It's base rate is really low but has a pity and the "50/50" mechanic. With my experience with Hoyo games, i don't expect to get lucky anymore and i just have to save enough until i can reach pity but this kind of thinking isn't really gacha anymore. It's more like resource management than gambling. Tbf i'd rather have 2015 fgo kind of gacha. 1% rate, no pity at all. essentially a true gacha experience. if i can pick tho, i would like the arknights gacha system, its a good balance between being luck-based while also being forgiving enough for f2p players.

How important is to pull for Suomi? Tbh, I don't feel like pulling for Suomi or Ullrid, I'm more interested on Mosin-Nagant and the cat. I'm not planning to be the strongest, but I want to be able to enjoy the story (main story + events) and pull for waifu's like Vector and Springfield. Will I stay behind in the power curve and won't be able to keep up if I don't pull for Suomi?

Gacha on limited banners is a bit more complicated than "50/50", if you fail you get guaranteed on next ssr.

I am not the math person but from about a year of data collected from the game, gacha rate proves to be what it claims to be It’s about 10 pulls less than hoyo games in average Usually 60-70 range to get 5 star characters

Great video mate! Really bummed out about the gacha, I avoid Hoyo games like the plague because their rates sucks. It doesn't even need to be much more generous than that, WuWa just has slightly better rates and a guaranteed weapon banner, and that was enough to keep me playing. Progression doesn't seem that good either from what you've said... I will play the game at release, but if it ends up being a time-gated mess with stingy rewards like Hoyo games, it will be an instant drop. I REALLY hope that the game will prove me wrong tho.

@inFAMOUSJakey i see i'm fine with harder gameplay if my favorites can do work in any strategy game. My biggest grievence with FEH and why i'm looking to this game is how the wheel of powercreep is turning so fast and a lot of the power is in exclusive parts of character's kits that you just can't compete at times from go. But on the flip side if you have the strong units game is trivial. Recent map featuring two new and rather strong units (along with an escort of solid generics) is extremely hard on the highest difficulty. However a unit i have makes it a joke with them alone. However not using them makes it a case of not being able to kill one of the units with any sort of speed if at all depending on who. (They also have to survive as you fail if any unit falls.) If this game can avoid that i'll be content.

Imho. If the 50/50 has a rate where the odds are you will average getting closer to the SECOND PITY, which for Gfl2 means 160 pulls, they should do Snowbreak's Gacha. They use TWO systems, one is a 100%, the other the typical Gacha 50/50. The 100% has a HIGHER barrier to hit that Pity as well as the typical Hoyo miserable rate odds, meaning you WILL HIT that Pity almost always. While the 50/50 is the normal for these, 80 pulls for Pity, but the rate is above average, not Nikke levels of 3% for a SSR, but within 1% and above. Anything keeping only a 50/50 with shitty rates and odds is immediate F2P only for me. But do the Gacha Nikke style? As in they ADD the dolls to the common Gacha pool, or they doing the Blue Archive Bullshittery? (BA has 40+ Students that REMAIN locked behind their specific Gacha Banners, you need them to be rerun to get a shot, the odds are horrendous, usually MANDATING the spark at 200 rolls, which means 48K pyro, 3-4 MONTHS worth of F2P saved currency if you have a life outside malding in the ranking elements to nab all the 10pulls of pyro they reward for that, so the BA formula is Hardly any Dolls enter the common pool, remaining locked in their Banners, forcing you to plan which ones you have to save and pull for).

It is honestly ASKING TOO MUCH for Gachas to do an Action Taimanin style Gacha, where from personal experience, the only Gacha is the weapons, everything else you can farm currencies to acquire, even those spicy costumes sans some super exclusive ones. But if it is for Balance sake, then Snowbreak is honestly a GOLD STANDARD that should be followed, people joke about Snowbreak Route, yet they never realize just how damn GOOD a lot of other features it has are compared to any other Gacha. They give you the choice between a 100% pity gacha w/ Hoyo rates (so you mostly always hit that pity, making it easy to math your expenses for each Banner) or a typical 50/50 pity one. Weapon banner has lower pity barrier, and few Units demand their 5* sig weapon to truly shine, what's more, that shiny Sig weapon? YOU ONLY NEED ONE DUPE TO MAX ITS PERFORMANCE. Manifestation? (SB's Constelations) they have a farming feature where you can slowly farm 2 frags of 2 of the SSR operators a day, so you can unlock those neat extra bonuses even as F2P. Their events all offer a FREE 4* alternative to the Sig gun, not as powerful in built in effect, but a number of Operators aren't picky for adequate performance. And to jot forget, but the Pity counter for the Gacha CARRIES OVER, and they have TWO Mileage ticket shops (One is golden, with infinite supply of extra tickets or if you save enough, a list of 5* guns; the normal one has a limited monthly stock of the tickets, but is also packed with a shitton of currencies you need.

But if i am tbh, the only Gachas I consistently am fine rolling for and have kept playing through, are Nikke and Snowbreak, both have the better Gacha if you aren't bothering with those horrendous 60 bucks for a skin, Nikke has the new units enter common Pool soon after their banner ends, and overall both have more than enough freebies so F2P or Light spender both aren't hurting so hard. Were the sole Main barrier for performance of units been time as those two do (Nikke all you need is pass that 160 barrier, which if the Common pool rolling is anything to go, you will pass it, then it becomes just saving the resources to level up; SB has ALL parts that affect unit performance have a grindable way to get to it, so you are never truly hurting even as a F2P). So while Gacha works, it is honestly the Normies being... Normie coomsoomers that F shit up. More Gachas need to do a Snowbreak honestly, do stuff to make Tourists go away, because the ones who know Gacha more will kick the ass of games pulling shitty Gachas. The issue of Gacha is believing doing a Hoyo is the solution.
