We are back playing some infection gamemode on BeamNG Drive, this time on the new island added to the West Coast USA map and as you would expect there are some seriously impressive crashes.

Vulkan mode is a bit more buggy and unstable in some areas but it allows beam to use more of your gpu. It helps my frames a lot in mp

I second the Vulkan mode, because with most recent BeamNG update it became much more stable, so much that I switched to it exclusively due to its vastly superior performance.

I tried Vulcan mode once the other day, not a huge or noticeable difference on my PC.

@@mrtandemslidessbtt It uses the Vulkan graphics API instead of DirectX It is a bit more buggy, but it's required for VR, so it's how I play now!

BeamNG is clearly poorly optimized, yes multiplayer is a mod. But even single player will experience framerate issues on any PC. Do everyone at BeamNG team really think think that everyone has a higher-end PC? BeamNG is clearly only made for high-end PC.

@@automation7295 Well no, infact it's just a very demanding game due to the sheer complexity of the real time physics. Overall, the code is actually pretty well optimized compared to AAA titles like Starfield.

GTA V/Los Santos is based of Los Angeles, California, which is on the west coast of the USA. That's why the map was called 'West Coast USA'. The map is a recreation of LA in Beam.

I dunno for sure, but 1440p, with fairly soft shadows, on one of the largest maps, with 8 other cars is probably not optimal for long term sessions in a game like Beam mp.

BeamNG is a very demanding games, you will experience low FPS on any PC.

​@@squidwardo7074Beam itself can be demanding, especially with other programs (streaming/video recording) running as well. Depending on how he does the audio recording (through the video recording program or an audio recording program), it could take a lot of resources to make a Beam video.

Not much Alex can do unless he upgrades his PC. Leathercap's video of these rounds of Infection had no frame rate issues like Alex did. Having 10 people really turns Alex's computer into a potato.

Unfortunately, poor FPS in BeamNG like in this video example made me uninstall the game. My PC can't exactly keep up with this game, in some maps, smooth as butter. In some other maps, just decimated my FPS, even without AI traffic.
