Infected Mushroom - Heavyweight Guitar Solo with Tab

A lot of people asked me for the tab after I made a cover version to this track, so I finally made one :)
This is my interpterion to the solo, I use also a Wha Wha pedal .
Some tips for the tab:
* - Picking a couple of notes/ Artificial harmonics / Over tone
** - Pitch down with the tremolo bar
/ - Slide
^ - Hammer on/ Pull off
~ - Vibrato (I do a lot they're not always in the tab)

Incredible work. Wanted to ask, you mentioned using a Wah but it sounds as if you're using reverb of some kind too, would you be able to share what kind? Also that's an amazing guitar, I'd love to look it up. Finally this made me think perhaps the solo would sound even better fretless, even tempted to get one myself now 😅

Thanks bro :) Yes, there's also a reverb and a delay, nothing specific, I'm using a kemper, so it's from there. The guitar is a PRS Custom 24 . Wo good luck with the fretless 😂, I never really played one but I think it will be super hard .

@@RoyA85 I've played around on my dad's fretless bass before and honestly quite like the feel but you're right, not easy. I found something called a Flatter that will fit any guitar but it's a little short, doesn't cover the higher frets at all, still looks fun though. I had a look at that guitar earlier actually, is that the Core?

@@RoyA85 I watched a review, they said the flatter was shipped from Israel. Very nice, it's the contour on the body and the look of the inlay that look more like the Core than the S2 (both are made in the US) to me, the SE is the one made in Indonesia or Korea (depending on when it was made).

Hey, I've been using this to learn the solo and I've been stuck at that part around 00:50 for a while. I checked Songster to see if that would help but their tabs turned out to be completely different. Personally I like this version, so I figured I'd ask here. That section with the 10 on high E, 10 and 12 on B and 12 on G, how is the second part of it subdivided? Is it straight up 16th notes with equal subdivisions or is there some trick with the rhythm? I've tried slowing it down but the sound gets messed up and it gets harder to distinguish each individual note.

Hey, glad you liked my version :) I haven't really tried to analyze it, but I tried now to make sense out of the fast part, it can be 16th notes of 6, 6, 2 , that means only the last 14 notes in the tab are the 16th notes, and then it goes to the other part. I hope it makes sense and helps, good luck 🤘

@@RoyA85 Aye, it sounds amazing :) Damn no wonder. My counting was way off. I was taking the first three notes as a transition into the section and then the next 24 notes as 3 groups of 8 notes with the 16th note section starting on the first note of the 2nd group of 8 (10 on B) for the remaining notes. I'm gonna have to reaaaaally slow this down haha Small follow up question. In that section are you straight up alternate picking each note or using some legato/sweeps/economy picking? I'm trying to play it with straight alternate picking rn.

@fortpyjamas No problem man, hope it helps. The 10 to 12 and 12 to 10 on the B string are legato, G string Up , E string Down, so you're between the strings and it flows better .

You're welcome. You will need an amp with some distortion in it or a pedal . Or if you have a sound card (Hardware) you can plug the guitar in, you can use a guitar amp plugin VST (Software).
