Oh no, Guitarmass wasn't the right introduction. I feel like the person who suggested this track in particular selected it because it's one of their more "accessible" works, but we know you're a sucker for complexity and ingenuity. May I request a second chance with their track Heavyweight? And here's something you'd really dig, Alon Mor - Neolithic Fantasies. It's definitely a piece for after your medicine :) the guy is notorious for his meticulous sound design and the immense amount of detail he puts into his work. The only thing is that I'd find it impossible to find places to pause because of how much his tracks just envelop and immerse you in the soundscapes he paints. It's considered EDM but it's very very organic and "alive" if you will. I promise that you won't be disappointed my friend, you're going to nerd out to the engineering so much and the music itself is just such a trip

Infected Mushroom is one of the greatest things to ever come out of lovely Israel, and in my view they are to electronic music what Tool is to rock. I didn't know this track before, but normally their tracks take their sweet time, just like Tool's do. Recommended listens: 'Avratz' or 'The Shen'.

Shakawkaw is a weird but fun one, and let's not forget about Deeply Disturbed (Yahel Remix, best remix imo) and Dancing with Kadafi (progressive psytrance when it's the best, almost on par with Shpongle).

Although I'm thrilled that you've reacted to Infected Mushroom, I have to echo other comments and say that their song "Heavyweight" is the one that I think you'll find the most interesting to react to, especially the use of synthesizers in the second half of the song to mimic a lengthy guitar solo. I would really love it if you gave the band another go and reacted to that song. Love your analysis as always.

There's barely ANY reactions to this type of music, so because of this, there's not a lot of the reactors that feel comfortable with switching around once they've found a genre. So when people tell others to react to stuff in (not just this genre but) all of EDM, they don't see enough of a crowd to find it worthy. Which breaks my heart because I find it to be great music that either wants to be broken to mainstream at some point or prefers an underground fan base. But what's against us as people that want to share this music is it's an acquired taste, but once you're past the initial insults you wanna quickly throw at it like "Oh this music is only for people that get high on everything and just get wasted to this stuff" or that it's not music because there's no "instruments." And that's not fair! To see how far we've come to what we're not only able to listen to but also to make with this ability is mind-blowing! So I fully support it and those that are on the path to finding it, whether it's jokingly, accidentally or otherwise. The point is, you enjoyed it, which pleasantly surprised me and I'm glad you took it seriously and I was able to take something out of this video and I've been a hardcore listener to this and many more genres since 2014

DUDE, OMG THIS is as PERFECT OF A CHANCE as I'll EVER get to talk about this! So, @Geebz, Open your Mind for me. Those 2 People in the Video (Pink and Blue Hair) are a BIG DEAL in Japan, and Certain Communities in the Western World. there part of a Software called Vocaloid. Basically, in a Nutshell, ANYONE can download it, like F.L. Studio, and use Vocaloid. basically, it's an Program you use with Voice Banks (previously recorded Voice Samples from Singers), which only have the Basic Syllables, and you use those, along with Producing AND engineering Techniques, to Tune the voice, etc. to make a Vocal Track for your Song. there are COUNTLESS VOCALOID SONGS COMPARED TO ANY 1 ARTIST, in EVERY GENRE, Metal, Jazz, Pop, EDM, Rap, and a LOT of great people with AMAZING IDEAS Compositionally. Like mixing Genres like Industrial/Ragtime, EDM/Metal, Jazz/EDM, Pop/Jazz, Orchestral/EDM, etc. as well as some Producers/Artists with there OWN UNIQUE SOUND. From the Top of my head, Utsu-P, Kikuo, MARETU, Slave-V.V.R., wowaka (RIP), etc. The Vocaloid Scene is always Changing, usually by the Month or Year, but sometimes as little as every Week or even DAILY back in it's Early Prime in 2007-2014. I want you, FROM HE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, react to 2 Songs from this AT LEAST, it's really a shame this ENTIRE pool of ART is undermined cause it's "Japanese" or "Not a Person". Keep in mind, MOST OF THE COMMUNITY IS INDEPENDANT OR COLLABARATIONS, BUT MOSTLY INDEPENDANT. Most songs you here are 1 person for everything. Lyrics, Music, Producing, Videos, etc. 1 Utsu-P: Absolute Music Dance (from the Algorithm Album) (Amazing blend of EDM, Death Metal, Rap, and Pop. REALLY good Production) 2 Kikuo: Pino Polaris the Monster (from the Miku 5 Album) (BRILLIANT combination of EDM Production, on classic Orchestral Instruments. Orchestral Instruments being used in a EDM Fashion as well. Amazing production as well.) if you like this stuff, and not a Stickler for "Language Barriers", it's an AMAZING WORLD of ART, something for everyone. and when I say it's a BIG thing, MY GOD, I mean it. Hologram Live shows, internationally too, some Vocaloids are in Ads for Games, Cars, Stores, Everything in Japan, these are A BIG DEAL. PLEASE, if you have to pick 1, do the #2 Song I suggested. AT LEAST DO THAT ONE!! FROM ONE MUSICIAN TO ANOTHER, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED! edit: I WANT MY EDM (and Vocaloid too, ha) EDIT: If you want some other Picks, or for anyone who is reading this far and interested, I got a few: 1 rerulili: Knife. amazing blend of Funk, Pop, Rap, Jazz, and Traditional Japanese Styles. KILLER Slap Bass. 2 wowaka (RIP): Unknown Mother Goose, Two Faced Lovers, etc. wowaka is Pop-Rock, with a knack for Blending Chaos and Harmony. 3 sasakure.UK: Denparadigm, Negaposi*Continues. EDM, Pop, Rap-ish. Denparadigm has some really cool, Trippy Production, and Negaposi*Continues has some really cool Chord Changes. there is a Piano Cover on KZbin you can find for a better understanding. 4 KIRA: Burn Me Down, Ladylike, Games, Why Does a Heart Break, etc. KIRA is basically 2007-2013 Pop. MASTER at HUMAN LIKE VOCALS. 5 Other Random picks are JITTERBUG, Starduster, Reincarnation Ascension, Odds and Ends, Machine Gun, LUVORATORRRRY!, Diarrhea (By Utsu-P), Echo, Addiction (by Deco*27), I'm Sorry I'm Sorry, iNSaNiTY, Blue (by 164)Hole Dwelling, Just Be Friends, Magical Doctor, Glow, Persecution Complex Cellphone Girl (lol), Freely Tomorrow, Doll (by Utsu-P), Teo, Spinning Sky Rabbit, BioHazard (by SONiKA), From Y to Y, Psychogram, Miku (by Anamanaguchi), Until I Throw Away My Dreams and Become an Adult, Natural Born B, Love for Love by Love of Love, Route 23, Toutetsu, Satisfaction, Out of Edan, MATORYOSHKA 6 Other Random Picks of Songs with Better Covers/Covers more Famous then the Original: Donor Song, Hated by Life Itself, Kokoronashi (If Somehow), Melancholy of the Literary Boy. 7 Cover Artists you should check out: JubyPhonic, Hanatan, Oktavia, Lollia, splendiferachie, Akane Sasu Sora, Kurokumo. If you don't care about Language Barriers, and have an OPEN MIND, then VOCALOID is DEFINITLY a Genre NOBODY should overlook. (Im sorry this is so long, theres just too much to go over, and theres still more, like Hologram Live Shows, PVs, MMD, Animations, Video Games, Stereotypes, History, NicoNico, Cover Artists, Influential/Revolutionary Artists, Record Labels for Vocaloid, Albums vs Internet, etc. Along with Metal/Rock, this is a Genre that I Mainly follow, so I have a W I D E knowledge on this as a whole.)

I WANT MY EDM I think "Guitarmass" isn't a bad track, but it's definitely far from making them justice. I truly feel like you should give a try to tracks such as *"special place"*, *"now is gold"*, *"heavywheight"*, that reflect on the classical music background of Infected Mushroom, and to me, make them trully genius at what they do. On a more radio-friendly aspect, you could also check out *"I wish"*, *"becoming insane"*, *"pink nightmares"*. They may be a tad more commercial, but they've become so popular and almost a staple among trance playlists due to also being amazing tracks that compel you to their rythm and tribal feeling. Cheers!

Actually, the best track for you to react from Infected Mushroom is "Bust a Move". That song was the real game changer for them in the early 2000's and from a composer perspective it's the most interesting song you can do from them. Lots of other great and interesting songs from them have been suggested here in the comments, but none of them will have as much value as this one from a composer/decomposer angle.

The video called "Infected Mushroom plays and is interviewed at KCRW 89.9FM (2012-08-27)" is a very nice video, they have a drummer, there is a singer, guitar player, and then there is this synth guy who is a literal synth god! :D

Simple summary of Guitarmass? Starts with one guitar and then it merges the second, then it goes solely second for a bit and it switches up and goes back and forth (synchronizes) between the styles of the two guitarists so they could get both their visions implemented into one smooth, ongoing transition for most of it. And thus, guitarmass came to be. Mass of guitars. Makes sense too because IM is consisted of two artists for the most part so it's like a clash/agreement between the two with this song and how it's style transitions. That's how I like to think about it at least.

Thanks for checking Infected mushroom lol I remember suggesting this in the past ❤️ I think they have better songs that GuitarMass (it still rocks) but the thing I like the most about that album and this track in particular is the use of voice from Duvdev to make many of the leads, melodies etc. Check out Manipulator VST from Polyverse.

Hey, Infected Mushroom is one of my top 3 favorite groups of all time. They've been doing music since 1996 under this name. They are the most telented technicians and musicians in the Psytrance genre worldwide. I would be very intrigued to see what your reaction is to one of their better tracks ( they can get very very complicated.) Also, they create most of their sounds with neer maniacal attention to detail. I've seen them live half a dozen times. The mix is out of this world, the mastering is out of this world. You should try to review those tracks (your ears will thank you): - Symphonatic - Dancing With Khadafi - Unbalanced (baby killer RMX) - Gravity waves (Infected Mushroom 2017 remix) - Animatronica - Franks - Nutmeg - New Clown in Town - Coolio (Infected Remix)

As much as I love Tool, Opeth, APC, Puscifer, Jinjer, Parkway Drive, et al, Infected Mushroom is severely underrated, and this made my evening. Artillery or Heavyweight are what I would've recommended as introductory pieces, but Guitarmass is good, too.

The 8.0 was off the Kermadeck Islands which are north of New Zealand where I am. Had a couple different tsunami warnings today but it's all good now

Nobody even comes close to comparing to Infected Mushroom when it comes to psy trance. They have so many unique and creative sounds. I remember when dubstep became the "next big thing" and then Infected released Army of Mushrooms and it was just like a "here, hold my beer" moment. They fucking killed that album by making "dubstep" their own.

If you‘re open to electronic music - and perhaps even „weird“ electronic music - „Hajnal“ by Venetian Snares is one of the most musically interesting tracks I‘ve ever heard... don’t want to spoil anything, but the juxtaposition and transition between moods and genres is breathtaking.

Aloha from Seattle, brotha! Infected Mushroom is always a fun trip. I knew you'd be down with their vibe. Respect. You should check out Aphex Twin - Girl Boy Song or Squarepusher - Come on My Selector, for some solid experimental electronic masterpieces. BTW, over here in the Pacific Northwest it's SUPER windy as I type this. Stay safe, brotha.

Bro. Be safe... good to hear they canceled the watch! This is.... interesting. First modern day experience with the genre. I respect anyone that can find their own effects and mash them together in a way that draws people in. Hope you circle back to radiohead soon, i know your list is huge. Enjoy your break, man!

One of my favorite bands, but I hadn't heard this track before, found it a bit lazy in musical ideas compared to their older stuff. not sure about the latest albums, but the last track of the album used to be the more experimental one...lots of musical food! I recommend Dancing with Kadafi (from B.P. Empire) or Stretched (from I'm the supervisor).

I am pleasantly surprised to see this one in here, as others have recommended, you should check 'Heavyweight', it's amazing one. Great videos, love your approach and openness about music, keep it up! ;)

Thanks for introducing me to this group! I have heard of them in the past but never listened. I want to suggest Lords of Acid. And please do more from Infected Mushroom!

I still want my EDM.... although I also want my Tool, Pusifer, Devon Townshend, Mesuggah, The HU, Deftones, Mastodon, Dream Theater, Gojira. 😁 I did enjoy the Shpongle track though. I've done psy trance festivals in Eastern Europe... they are the best fun!

Well I want my EDM....but seriously I love what you do on this channel. I listen to a wide variety of music but normally stay in the rock/metal genres even though edm has a special place in my heart. When it comes to composing or decomposing I’m always curious to see how someone would do it when it comes to the EDM/techno/trance/house/drum and base/you name your style. Keep it going and I can’t wait to listen to more.

Guitarmass is probably one of the weakest Infected Mushroom songs unfortunately... please try Heavyweight or Messenger 2012.

I don't listen to electronic music but I remember messenger from years ago, it was very good composition
@ryanmcgill50483 жыл бұрын
@@jacek_poplawski messenger is great and infected mushroom is way more than electronic music. They use real instruments to compose a lot of sounds. They play live like an actual 4 piece band. When i saw them in Nashville in 2008 9 or so in was blown away.

Heavyweight, Messenger 2012, Flamingo, Blue Swan 5, The Surgeon... all masterpieces! I would also add Project 100 or Suliman to this list, but honestly there are too many good ones to count!
