Infield VS Pitcher Throwing Mechanics - HUGE TIP to improve throwing accuracy in the infield

Is your kid both a pitcher AND infielder? If so, then this pro tip could be a HUGE key to improving infield throwing accuracy.
First, let me say this - If your player is both pitching and playing infield, then that's fantastic.
I highly recommend that players learn as many positions as they can. It will make you more valuable to teams/coaches, and more likely to succeed in baseball.
For me personally, I always thought of myself as a pitcher in high school.
But I made it to the Major Leagues as an infielder.
If I had "put all of my eggs in one basket," I never would have paid for college with scholarship, or played professionally for 16 years.
My dream would have ended with mediocre college career (and a lot more college debt), because I never would have discovered what I'm actually good at.
Anyways, moving on...
Pitching AND playing the infield can lead to some difficulties.
Today's video is about one VERY common problem that happens when the player is trying to switch to "infield mode"
...but is still doing this one particular part of his throwing mechanics like a pitcher.
This one habit can WRECK throwing accuracy.
Suddenly players are throwing balls into the bleachers...
...or spiking into the ground.
But when you know what to look for, the throwing mechanics are easily fixed. Hope this video helps.

This is a great explanation. I've also heard coaches talk about a smaller circle on the back side with the throwing arm, similar to catchers.

My son is a youth three way player currently. Good pitcher, decent infielder, decent catcher, but the longer arm action throwing to first base and 2nd is negatively impacting his game. I struggle with the dilemma of changing his arm action off the mound with the fear that it'll screw up his pitching mechanics. This quick explanation helps me, I will ask the kid to watch it as well.
