During the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi was not declared the prime ministerial candidate of the INDI alliance. In the first phase, by cleverly involving regional parties, Rahul Gandhi was made to grab 99 Lok Sabha seats & become successful in becoming the leader of the opposition. In the second phase, riding on the back of regional parties, Rahul Gandhi is being promoted as the only national leader & the stature of regional leaders is being diminished. Choosing its own person for the post of Speaker of the Lok Sabha without consulting the allies was a part of this Congress strategy. In the third phase, Congress will present itself as the only national option by grabbing the vote bank of regional parties and grabbing power in their states. However, the people of the INDI alliance have now understood Congress game & realized that supporting Rahul Gandhi will be suicidal for them. These are all regional parties. It is wise for these regional parties to keep Rahul Gandhi at arm's length. They are not going to get anything from Rahul Gandhi now. Communists who used to be in the forefront of supporting Congress in the past have been reduced to just two LS seats.
