Just picked up the A type. I have the CC plasma as well. A thought just now was to run 8 IOs and 8 CC plasma with some support and maybe a couple of spears or st59s on the front row to help the IO stay alive 🙂

Io is the only cruiser I never pulled it's points from just because it's so useful. I'm glad to see it's a powerhouse again

The only problem is everyone is either running immortals 12 cas aux, and Lcs then reinforced with a single gold spear or swarm. Even with choas in fleet the cas will our heal the damage from both ships.

bro what def stats do I upgrade for Io? I've started encountering indefatigables and star sweepers, it's hurting my cas and Ios plsss helpp

The only way to stop the CAS heal is a fighter that hits main weapon system with high probability

THe Io's command skill is useful when in big fights because in that 45 seconds they can be flanked by one or two more fleets and thus they can't run fast enough to save themselves.

First of thanks again for all you have done so far, you are more than an asset to the game they need to give you a salary lol, next can I suggest or request that we get a system build guid for the bcs and carriers. The guides you have not talk about modules but not how to build the ship especially from its base model. I understand that with the different modules that the builds can become wildly different and that its is very prominence and would most likely take a while to complete. However it would be extremely helpful especially for new players and ftp players without many modules or who have to spend tp sparingly. In short I’m looking for a guide that is similar to the ones that are cruiser and below, bc and above doesn’t talk about where to put points just the modules. Please consider thank you

@philj1706 I can unfortunately only really do that for the st59 as I don't own all modules myself for other BCs. I'll try see if I can come up with something.

The Io B's special still goes into effect. It "Prioritizes Frigates and Destroyers" COMMA "increases Hitrate by 40% and Evasion by 20%" Now, we can argue that it's just a bad translation, because that's on the table.

The Io Siege hasn't changed much, still meta for hit and run outpost and platforms and a main damage dealer for Angulum servers and that's it. But the Io A got an incredible upgrade, now is useful as well, teaming up with the B variant and wrecks fleets

@nach0x yeah I'm considering doubling my TP in Io to run both variants, 4 of each in each fleet or something. Should make for a pretty versatile front line then.

Can you do tier lists again pls especially since the command points for frigates and destroyers changed. I was out for like 2-3 seasons and I usually check your reviews first before starting the season so I can adjust my fleet.

Would you run the strategy on Connie plasma or is it a similar argument to Io A? I feel like since Connie doesn’t hit with a beam frequency like Io it could be nice.

Unrelated to Io, but wondering after the update, would you prefer to run LC or Cali in your fleets?

@chap_eth still have different uses. Calli is dpm, LC is support. Calli is self explanatory it's all dpm except the c type brings ok row wide AA with it. LC a type gives fleet wide AA to mid row ships, b type is good aa by itself and also gives fantastic intercept neutering damage from missile boats, c type is its weakest it's dpm but.youre better running calli over c type LC.

Is it just me or have the AA changes made aircraft absurdly squishy? Even the PvE fleets are knocking out a surprising amount of aircraft in swarm fleets now. Honestly I think it's a good thing as those who usually run swarm fleets are cowards who are afraid of the smallest loss, so nerfing their effectiveness will be tooth those players to make them actually throw some material into the fray if they wish to be effective.

Unfortunately I only have the base Io. Really need the siege for angulum. Limping with the cas arty

Good luck mate, it took me around 5 full research to get it, don't lose hope, it absolutely worth it 👍

@VladMcCain at least the Io research agreement is pretty decent chances of getting an Io so at minimum you'll be getting useful tech points if you don't get a variant quite often.

I just checked my reports. I still see regular Callisto doing 2x the damage of Ion Cannon anytime the enemy has Cruisers and higher.

@aliancemd it depends on whether you keep them alive or not. Callisto being back row means they stay alive naturally. However if you keep the Io alive they will outdamage basically everything else at the moment, well when correctly set up and supported.

The Cali A got the weapon from the B variant, it's brutal, BUT against a fleet with missile/ torp interception and the damage the Cali can do goes down drastically. On the bright side I heard Cali C for an improvement in the AA department
