Great review. I like the explanation of the technical bits and you have a very lovely voice for someone with such hairy arms :)

It would be cool if there was a battery built into the crank so that you could just crank away while walking or whatever without being attached to a cable, and then when you want to charge a device you just plug it in and dont have to do any work. That way you can crank when you have energy and charge even if you’re tired.

that is a pretty good idea!

I’ve never understood why these sorts of things never have a battery inline so that if you speed up/slow down it’ll still smooth out the power output.

They politely give you the option to do that if you chose too You can get a battery for it if you want!

Batteries are only good for about 500 charges and would make the product useless unless you could replace the batteries.
@vitacell13 жыл бұрын
Because it will be a load, and load eats current(amps), the more empty is the battery, the more force you will need to apply for that load. If you apply less force, charging will be slower, but still you need to apply more force than without that additional load.

well the hole needs to big enough if you wanna replace the cable, which actually is a very nice thing as I rather have a USB C as default...

For a few dollars more it would be better to replace the crank with an antique wind-up type mechanism that lasts at least an hour. Anyway congratulations!

Would one farad capacitor work in parallel of output??? I have found that with any particular powerbank you can only charge it or discharge it one at a time you cannot charge and discharge a power bank at the same time, the stupid electronics inside it shut output down while charging.... So you kind of need two power Banks! One for charging up and one for discharging and this is the same for using power banks with solar panels...
@vitacell13 жыл бұрын
You can't charge and discharge something at the same time. In capacitors charging/discharging, it happens just ultra fast. It charges, and when charged, it can release the stored energy instantly. 1 farad capacitor? Where did you see that? It will be a pretty big and expensive. Probably you are talking about supercapacitors, but those work a bit differently while still having capacitance. I think that, if you are discharging a power-bank, while still attached at solar panel, it will just discharge slower, or charging slowly. Depends on your load.

So it can't do 2 Amps is what you're saying... even if it says so. It's like everybody loves to lie and deceive - no one, or very few puts real facts information on there products
