This is the exact reason why I always fly Virgin Atlantic. The concept of paying a premium price and then having to scramble over another passenger (or have them scramble over you) is just insane! Even with VA's oldest ('herringbone') layout, you have direct aisle access and a degree of privacy when you want to sleep. When I first started travelling Business Class a few years ago I had no fixed preference for BA or VA. After a small amount of research and realising this, I've never visited the BA website again. If they ever ditch it completely I might give BA a try.

Agree, after just coming back to the UK from Dallas, I experienced a broken seat (no adjust from the controls), poor quality food, stepping over a person's legs to enter the aisle, USB sockets totally under powered and unable to charge a phone, a touch screen that needed many 'taps' to obtain a response from it. Overall, this was very poor value for money and a very poor experience.

What would you say is a nicer experience: BA old style business return to USA or Virgin Premium out and upper class back? Prices up about the same so curious which would be nicer for the money?

There's actually a very rare chance of there being a wide body aircraft parked at A gates. I flew on 787-8 from T5A to TLV and 747 (back in the day) to New York!

Dear infinite flight I love the new work you did on the new a380 my second favorite plane BUT my real favorite plane is the 747. I’m not hating I know the a380 needed work for a long time. But I genuinely think the 747 can also need a rework. In my opinion it’s so outdated. But you guys really did good work on the a380:) but give the 747 a chance. And you don’t need to the 400 and the 200 the 8 will be fine and if you make the plane premium mark my wards I will by it. But I’m begging you to please give it a try

so when you come to booking a business class seat. how will you know if your getting the new seats or the old seats ?

The type of aircraft is the giveaway - most of their A380's are still old style Business Class and they have upgraded the vast majority of 777

@@EdwardLovatt-q5h well I looked at flights the other day and when I was able to select my seats different aircraft’s had a different seat map so I’m guessing that would also give you an idea if they are the new or old ones ?

@@Niss-Tang Absolutely, that is how you would tell once booked. Certain routes like IAD > LHR fly twice a day but the earlier flight is a 777 (New Club World) and the later flight is the A380 (old club world). So if you want the new Club world you can check which plane they use for the route before booking
