** UPDATED VERSION HERE: • 4 Small Redstone Stora... **
This is the first of it's kind! An infinitely expandable randomizer!
This tileable design outputs a single random signal amongst however many slices you build.
Big thanks to ‪@JustGlotz‬ and ‪@Kahyxen‬ for their input.
I know ‪@Mumbo‬ likes randomizers... wonder if we can get his attention?

I bet Tango could potentially use this for Decked Out 2.0! Like for randomized events or such.

Couple things to note: - ***IMPORTANT*** - For EVEN number slices: the clocks need to be synced. So make sure you have wiring that activates them at the same time. - For ODD number slices: the clocks need to have a 2gt offset. This applies to the 1wt version - further testing to come on the spaced out version. - The end slice distribution is a marginally a little low, but if you add an extra slice at each end that doesn't have an output, it should even out. - The 1wt version needs to have a 4gt input, running off a 4gt clock. - The longer the array, the less random outputs you need to generate. String together a couple random output generators if you need to.

5 Star narration, great editing!!! Really appreciate that you present other options that do not work and why. I can see this becoming the standard for Randomizers I’m looking forward to the maze generator but am super impressed you stopped when presented with a problem to solve for it first! Give us the Maze! Lol. Will you be premiering The Maze upload?

This is awesome, there are two pieces of tech here I have been working with, a selector system that retains memory of selection and a random output generator. Your solution to these is great.

what if you did one of the armor stand randomizers and took the output as a serial string of bits and then decoded those bits into a single output? you wouldn’t need an infinitely expanding design either as the more bits you add, it is exponential in the number of potential outputs and the cost to build it instead of being linear would be logarithmic. that being said though, i love your design, i already have a few ideas of where i wanna use it, fantastic job! edit: so after going in and trying it, turns out, it's still linear, because you still need to build a slice for each new output of the decoder, so it would still be the same if not more expensive than this design, so props to rapscallion, this really is a fantastic design :)

Using a few 50/50 randomisers you could treat their output as a binary number and convert that into a single number

I recently worked on minesweeper and had a similar problem, needed random cell coordinates to plant a mine at the start of the game. Here is my solution: just used classical RNG with droppers, put 1 unstackable and 1 stackable item inside, this way it will output ether 1 or 0, 50% chance each. Then I stacked such generators corresponding to maximum value of coordinates, I had 64x64 field of cells, so I needed 6 such randomizers for each coordinate. This way it will output random binary number from 0 to 63, obviously can be made for any range of outputs.

Even if you were only making a smaller randomiser with 8 outputs for example, this would be superior to existing designs because of its integrity and potential of expansion! I don't think you'll find me building any randomiser other than this in future (unless, of course, this is improved upon ;) )

Fantastic concept! Can you easily control the frequency of the output? Or do you need to pass this putput through a gate of some sort to normalize it in time?

Changing the number of non-stackables in the random output generators should do it. Or chain together a couple to slow down even more.

yes and no... because the time to deliver a random signal is also random, it's not the best setup for for it. however, I do have a new system that is call based that can do what you describe.

@@RaPsCaLLioN1138 oh wow such a hastily reply, didn't expect it so quick! Hmmm. Yeah that does make sense because of the way it is set up. A call based one? That would actually be perfect instead of me having to use the randomizer in this video to create data storage then have to read it over a period of time. The randomizer would just create the required data right then. This would save on a heck of a lot of space and work and troubleshooting on why it ain't working. 🤣

I could make a solution that works as long as the number of outputs align with multiples of the first sixteen prime numbers. Although my solution would admittedly be a lot more cumbersome.
