Great choice. This is my favourite band. Long story short, got guided to these Kings of North from Kemi Finland when I was in a bad way. I heard Tony sing and been addicted to SA ever since. I won't give a list, you pick a song. I'm happy they're getting attention. Btw Tony and Tuomas go hiking. Tony is a HUGE Queen fan. His Queen collection is impressive.

That's not Bruce Dickinson singing They're not Iron Maiden and they're not from England, they are Sonata and they come from Finland! You should check out Black Sheep from the same album

No Tony has gotten older and changed how he sings because by his own admission he was singing above his natural vocal range and getting headaches from it so he has dropped his register only going high when the song needs it.

LMAO A good definition for this kind of metal. You know, people are telling that the common thing for Finnish metal bands is melodic approach. - Tony Kakko's voice is sooo pleasent. Plus I like his a bit theatrical way to perform. (In your reactions there are two Sonata Arctica's songs, same singer...)

I think you may be confusing Tony Kakko with Tommy Karevik from Kamelot! Tony is the only signer Sonata has ever had. Tommy is Kamelot's third signer (after Mark Vanderbilt and Roy Khan).

Hey, thanks for the reaction! The last bit of music your heard is from White Pearl, Black Ocean, which you've already reacted to! Tony Kakko is the only singer this band has ever had, the other singer you can hear on their albums is Johanna Kurkela on Deathaura. He is the songwriter as well. Only two songs have been written by other members : My Selene by former guitarist Jani Liimatainen, and Nothing More by keyboardist Henrik Klingenberg. Melodic metal is a good way to describe them as they didn't stick with power metal their whole career. Tony says the band is hard to market because they don't fit into one genre and is fine with calling Sonata Arctica a melodic metal band. The guitarist is Jani Liimatainen who is now with Insomnium and The Dark Element. Despite what MANY "fans" think, Tony and Jani call each other brothers. They grew up in Kemi along with Tommy who is the drummer who loves banana's.
