Thank you very much. Great video! I'm planning on doing the front brakes on my daughter's car maybe this week end. She has the 2015 Infiniti Q50. You articulate very well and you made it easy to follow your video.

Do you know the oem part # for the front and rear rotors, Thank you.
@NexusAuto3 жыл бұрын
Don't directly quote me on this, as I do not know if Infiniti has changed part numbers, or if it changes for later year cars, (as far as I know, it hasn't), the brake pads Part Number is D1060-3JA0A, and the rotors Part Number 40206-3JA0A

Just a question on bleeding the brakes- i didnt see you loosen the banjo bolt at the start when you took the calipers off/didnt need to do this. I assume that at the end you can just do a few pumps on the pedal with the master cylinder open to get any air out?
@NexusAuto3 жыл бұрын
That is correct, overall. The RIGHT was is exactly as you described...loosen the banjo bolt, then compress the caliper piston. The only reason this is done is to prevent dirt or contaminants from backfeeding through the brake fluid and damaging the master cylinder. Generally speaking, unless there is a small leak of any sort, there should be no concern for contaminants. I always inspect and if there is even a little bit of wetness, even if no leak is present, I will back off the banjo. Otherwise, I have done a lot of cars like this and had 0 issues or failures. That being said, it should be done at your own discretion. If you are not sure, use the banjo bolt.

One of the caliper pins has a rubber Slide pin boot. May I know if for front brake, this pin will be put in the top of torque member or in the bottom?
@NexusAuto4 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, it is the bottom caliper pin that has the rubber on it
@TheMontanasv64 жыл бұрын
@@NexusAuto Thanks a lot. The rear caliper pin with rubber sliding boot was found that it was located on the top. And from the service manual(page BR-37), it shows front caliper pin with rubber boot on the top (LF wheel view); Would you please share what is the difference for the pin with/without rubber slide boot? and any difference to located it on the top or bottom? From service manual, it all shows on the top of the torque member. Thanks.
@TheMontanasv64 жыл бұрын
@@NexusAuto sorry, should correct the name as"pin with rubber bushing" instead of "sliding boot".
@NexusAuto4 жыл бұрын
@@TheMontanasv6 You would be right...I apologize. I should have checked the service manual before answering off of memory. Thank you for clarifying. Although, if you had the service manual, why did you ask? LOL. I feel like this was a test :) As for the boot, it is supposed to serve as a vibration damper, to help stop the caliper from vibrating on the bolts. That is the info I learned about them a few years ago when this started becoming common on cars, and I have not heard of any other purpose. Always make sure that the pins go back to their proper respective positions. Upper pin should remain in the upper, and lower pin in the lower caliper position. For some cars, it actually makes little difference. The pins are the exact same size, shape and design. So bottom or top, it doesn't matter. For other cars, the top and bottom pins are different, and they have been engineered like that. To be safe, never risk it. For the JX35 and QX60, the pins do have some slight differences, so it should be assumed that they have to go back to their respective torque member slots.

Nexus Auto many thanks. I just bought a service manual in case I need any information. But still a video and experienced technician would be better to ask for hands on experience. Thanks so much.

I wish you could show how to properly jack the vehicle because there is no way to find it on the user's manual I don't know why. If you upload a video with "Infiniti QX60 Jacking point" I'm sure you will get thousands of views because there is none in youtube right now.
