Calibans are AVA 4 in Shaas, which could potentially be fun to run, if a bit expensive.

I have been thinking about a CA list that's very similar to this, but I hate having all my eggs in the Nourkias (or even the Samaritan) basket. Do you think there's a version of this list (lets call it the Mentor + TAG version of CA) which doesn't take an Umbra? One which spreads out the midfield/objective duties among multiple slightly cheaper Troopers? What Troopers would you use for this?

Definitely, yes. I don't actually know if I rate the mentor that highly; CA can include so many veterans that as far as cheap useful Lts go the Nexus hacker had some genuine potential. Regardless my general take on replacing Nourkias in the first instance would be to reach for a hacker package like the Dartok and Bit/Kiss. @@R0bertShepherd I like it! Having a Nexus Hacker Lt makes me feel vulnerable though. If you put the Mentor back in and sub out the Sphinx for a Raicho, you can upgrade the R-Drone to a Shrouded FO or KHD, which is another midfield marker state Specialist. Or maybe Aida? If you keep the Nexus you can go for Kerr-Nau or a Fraacta.

@@CamR331 the thing about the nexus is that that list has a whopping six veteran troopers (plus two irregulars), making the impact of loss of lieutenant really quite low. However yes, the changes you've proposed to personal taste would be very functional.

Definitely some unfortunate TAG engagements! Despite its lower damage and lack of AP, the Sphinx is actually a very tiny bit better at killing the Guijia than the other way around (0.51 wounds/order vs 0.50 wounds/order). Obviously not a fight either really wants to be taking vs each-other, just interesting how much work the mim-6 does to the math.

Technically your opponent shouldn't have gotten his secret classified as you can't use a servant to restore the requisite str/wounds

I didn't read the classified when he revealed it but regardless it wasn't challenging for him to secure HVT this game. But I *may* have been able to make a play to try to stop that if I hadn't thought his secondary was done.

I would like to make the argument that Nourkias has a marker state is the main benefit over a Samaritan. Plus EM>than DA. Agree that this list suffers in HC.

Those are definitely the main benefits, I've just never especially found them to be worth the considerable cost (or lost capability).

@@R0bertShepherdI thought of that only because recently had a situation in HC with Liang Kai in cc with an Overdron. opponent kept activating Overdron, wanting me to damage it with Liang Kais exp cc, so he can then shoot a gizmokit and score an objective. So I kept bashing him with a pistol so the TAG passed all the saves.

If you pop into Infinity Army, you'll find a selection of armies under the category 'NA2' (non-aligned armies). These are mostly mercenary companies, often combining elements from two or more main factions. White Company are a mercenary company (named for the 14th-century mercenary company of the same name) led by the wealthy soldier of fortune John Hawkwood, who recruit from PanOceanian and Yu Jing militaries. Hence the Fusiliers. :)

It's called Infinity by Corvus Belli. It's a near-future stting tabletop wargame of about fifteen troops a side with fairly involved scenery and tables and a heavy black-ops style skirmish gameplay. The official website is infinitytheuniverse.com/
