This saddle is really odd. It follows the exact opposite of the wellknown and bikefitters recommended SQLab saddles like 611 and 612. SQLab tries to load the weight only on the sit bones. This one tries to load it everywhere else. I am very sceptical about this one, but you can never tell without testing.

Yea I can’t understand why the bones has no support. The place where you are supposed to put the weight has no support…
@snorttroll43792 ай бұрын
I think if you put some mesh and let the sit bones take some too, then it would be great.
@berniekeene8682 ай бұрын
@@snorttroll4379 I think they do have some saddles on their website that have mesh or fabric to cover the open space.

Thanks for the video. A couple of random thoughts. I am skeptical of the seat, however I recognize that I have not tried it and really can't issue an opinion about it. I appreciate that you overcame your initial skepticism to discover that it works for you. I'm open to trying it, but I pause at the seat's price and think there are alternatives at least as good at a lower price point. I have to wonder how this seat would work for women with wide hips, whose seatbones are anatomically wider than men's?

It all depends on the width or distance between your ischial tuberosities (sit bones). I believe Infinity state that this saddle should suit someone with a sit bone width up to 125mm. I’m a few millimetres more than this and I feel that I am just on the limit. Refer to 5:30 in the video for a bit better explanation. For me personally, there is no other seat at any price as good for me. This Saturday I will start the IPWR 2024, a 5500km unsupported, solo ultra ride across Australia, and this is what I’ll be using again, despite recent testing of some other highly regarded seats and not being happy with them. Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing. This seat has always intrigued me, but it's too narrow for me to even bother trying. I agree soft tissue is taking the rider weight instead of the sit bones, but in theory that weight should be dispersed across the saddle rather than point loading the sit bones. I think the concept is sound, but I believe they would need to make an impractical amount of variations to widths, lengths, shapes, etc to cover people's differing anatomy...then again, the same could be said for just about any seat.

Hello this is Dr. Vince. Thank you for your support

Thanks Dr. Vince. Your seat is a fantastic design that enabled me to ride across Australia without a single saddle sore.

Very informative, thank you for the video. Currently on my 10th "high end ultra comfortable" saddle, trying to resolve perineum pain and numbness without any success. I am getting to the point of quitting cycling because of the pain. I also ride ultra distance, mostly on aero bars. Can you confirm that for you, with the Infinity saddle there is no pain/numbness in the perineum area specifically, I do not feel any discomfort around my sit bones on the other saddles. Cheers.

Providing the seat is set up right, I can confirm that there is zero pain/numbness in the perineum. I will be using this seat for IPWR 2024, a 5500km unsupported, solo ultra ride across Australia.

@@jamtribe Thank you for the info. I ordered the E3 model today, I hope that it will resolve my issues. What type of padding and shorts are you using with the saddle?

@@blizztbs what was the result and what do you think of the one where there are two halfs pivoting up and down with your hip joint as teh axis?

Did you feel any pressure on your tailbone with this saddle? It seems like that central portion of the saddle would put a lot of pressure in that area?
@jamtribe5 ай бұрын
None at all despite that central portion. There is some pressure on surrounding soft tissue of the bottom on the outer boundaries of the saddle but zero pressure is felt on the tailbone region. Hope this helps.

Hello, question if I may: What time-trial bars You are using please? Could You please post the link to the producer? Thank You!
@jamtribe8 ай бұрын
Profile T1+ aluminum bars with Cee Gee’s Cushy pads (Profile F-19 style) and ESI Racer’s Edge silicone grips. Unfortunately Profile no longer make this model bar but you might still find them for sale new online if you’re lucky.

Yes, agree with you 100%. This seat proved to be an invaluable investment for my cycling comfort and avoiding pressure sores. I don’t think any other bike seat compares.
