Throughout this saga, the best line that Hickman wrote was, "Everything dies." It lassoes together every major act of the series, and it's a promise kept: In the end, everything DOES die. With the universal remnant which is Battleworld under Doom, it manages to isolate them further; there is nothing else, and the dead are still here, waiting. Not only would it reboot the series a reasonable amount of time after the beginning, but they'd also have more assets to work with.
