I like how Infinity War adapted the snap and how Endgame adapted Cap standing up against Thanos, even with a broken shield. Just to name a few things I liked about how IW/EG adapted the storyline. Only, unlike the storyline, Endgame had a more emotional ending, IW established Thanos as a Malthusian, and both movies made Thanos one of the greatest film villains of all time. While the storyline showed the story of Thanos being a simp, IW showed the snap story and Endgame was a beautiful closure to Iron Man & Cap's character arcs and had a more emotional ending than the storyline. Just my personal thoughts btw Also, RIP Comicstorian His legacy lives on

I think what people don't understand is that Thanos is in love with the idealized version of love, Thanos doesn't just want the power to claim Deaths affection, Thanos is obsessed with idealized versions of concepts like power, love, while on an existental search for meaning. He thinks that achieving raw power will give him meaning, love, and make his uncertainty that goes with his nihilistic tendencies to be cured, but the fact is Thanos hadn't realized that achieving power doesn't give meaning, in the end he realizes its not just that he isn't worthy of such power by his own self doubt, he truly doesn't know what he wants. Starlin liked exploring concepts like Nihilism and Existentialism and had Thanos obsessed with idealized version of concepts and certainty.

Oddly enough his romantic relationship with death is more Oedipal in nature, as her image she chooses to take in human form is similar to that of his mother, whom before the 2013 Origin had been killed when Thanos nuked Titan, he never got to have the love of his mother, so Thanos love of death really is partially a wanting for the love of a mother, he didn't have as a child.

Imagine doing Infinity War, and making the part where Thanos used the reality stone on Drax and Mantis and Star-Lord and Gamora's weapons and Dr. Strange's magic during the Titan battle when he turned it into butterflies and expand that and have Thanos do a Scarlet-Witch-killing-the-Illuminati-in-Multiverse-Of-Madness to the Marvel heroes and you basically get this comic storyline. Nah, the Infinity War comic was just okay & Infinity Crusade was hot garbage. The Infinity Gauntlet was good but OP Thanos being a simp & destabilizing the universe in battles with cosmic entities isn’t that compelling of a story. The films did well with an 11-year saga. He was written better in the Infinity War movie & Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos comic. Honestly the only thing I wish we got in the films were Silver Surfer & Adam Warlock. Warlock is especially a beast and he deserved a bigger role in the MCU.
