Hello Jon, Could you tell us what is the better product for you between : moonlight, can coat and Synergy lite please? I search the best Gloss and a good durability / hydrophobicity. Many thanks for your help
@InfinityWax
@InfinityWax 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, thanks for taking the time to review. Note on hydrophobics: Lite has a sacrificial polymer which protects the coating in its first week. It beads (like in the review) but once washed away you reveal the ceramic coatings true water behaviour. This allows the coating to be applied outdoors and have the vehicle moved or used quickly afterwards while also reducing the chance of failure dramatically. What you saw in the review was the sacrificial polymer not the coating beading. We have a video on KZbin showing it after 6 months of daily use and independent test data from a partner lab in Germany which indicates that it can last 18 months (on polished paintwork) and 1 year on just decontaminated and the contact angle is 118 - 98 degrees at the end of the test.

see unplugged channel mate. your video shows hitting a silver car with high pressure. when you fire high pressure its different to low pressure. But theres also nothing to compare it to in your shot. The product is hydrophobic but not insanely hydrophobic.

Also beading improves after the first wash as the second polymer is the one that gives the most beading. The first polymer is more like a sacrificial layer to prevent water spotting etc

I applied it in July 2021. Car outside 24/7. It still beads fantastically and has not been topped. Purchased Synergy QD ready to top it, not used yet on top of synergy lite. Normal RDS will not work on top of a ceramic coating, Synergy QD is solvent based high ceramic content so it can go on ceramic coatings. The trigger will clog up.... I just tip bottle onto applicator (not pouring, up ending), also means no mist of ceramic in the air. Not read one bad review so far, everyone that uses it loves it. Over layering needs to be done in first hour, waiting 5 minutes after previous coat. After the hour leave for 7 days, inside or out. Great product.

I bought this as I was looking for a product that could be applied and the vehicle not garaged for 24hrs, as you said Jon the gloss is brilliant and really deepens the colour, like most of us I add a QD after washing every time so I get the slickness and beading ,it's veryeasy to apply and buff, overall this suits my needs at this time and I'm guessing there are some clever scientists that will come up with something different again while this is doing its thing for a year, it's a very good product and I've gotten some encouraging feedback from my neighbours after applying to their own vehicles, would I buy again !! Yes and I have. I've got other make products on other vehicles which I'm also monitoring and satisfied with them all so life's good 👍

Did 2 Cars last Aug at the same time, 1 with cancoat and 1 with this. For me cancoat is a monster and has handled the crazy amounts of salt and gunk on the road up in North East Scotland no problem, the IF product just never seems to have been quite as good at any stage but both still going well for now

So my only issue was with the hydrophobics, I’ve had it applied on my 06 Honda CR-V with no prep and it’s beading amazing still after nearly 5 months. You have to wash it after those 7 days to get the water beading to show.

Great video, I’ve also watched the follow up. I wonder if the whole sacrificial layer -7 days wash is a clever marketing strategy to avoid disappointing customers who have spent hours, decontaminating, polishing, prepping and then applying. Having said that I have it on my car and love it, and once you top it up with Vitality QD, it’s a different beast altogether. Discussion and opinions are what makes this channel so good, as Jon has said he really rates the product but has highlighted if you want beads then there are other products out there.

A few years ago I bought into what appeared to be a good deal from Infinity Wax I got the Whole Synergy Range in a pack for a good price. Unfortunately the Vitality failed and eventually after a lot emails IW replaced it. The one year coating that came with it lasted six months, so it will be interesting to see how it gets on. I bought some Gyeon Can Coat Evo from Imran when it came out and that's really easy to put on and has great beads if that what your after.

Nice review Jon. When I do my year enhancement polish in Mar/Apr, I’m going with Synergy lite as I got some in a great Black Friday Deal. It’s known for being so easy to apply and you don’t have to wait days to apply a second coat so driveway friendly. I’m sure I heard somewhere that the initial beading isn’t impressive due to the polymer element you mentioned to help with water spots etc while the coating is new. It should bead like crazy after a wash or two. Be handy if you did a quick follow up to show if this is the case.

Infinity its wax synergy lite can be layered in the first hour and then must be left 7 days before washing as it has a sacrificial layer which reveals the true behaviour of the product underneath as it has cured.

Update after 12 months is that there is no issues with residues etc in the bottle. Super easy to apply outside, I do I light wipe with a short pile and second light wipe with deep pile MF. Beads really well, not at all like you had Jon. As you say 12 months is enough durability. I don't bother with spray head, just upend bottle and applicator, saves creating any chemical mist. I've just done 3rd car with it.

I used this on my daughter's 2 yrs old puma yesterday, which is in really great condition, we only washed the car once with a pre wash and then with EZ reset, to take any old coating off. Dryed and flashed down with EZ. Eliminator. I applied and buffed off and my daughter followed me with 2 more micro fibres buffing off to a good shine. I found it really easy to apply and take off, obviously we'll have to wait and see how it holds up with longevity. Great honest review as always John. Keep up the great video's.

After the first contact wash the coating breaks through and shows it’s true water behaviour. The beading prior to this is simply the sacrificial polymer that protects it for the first week or so.

@@InfinityWax thanks , I haven’t tried it but I just seen a review on Facebook group which was a good review , anyway my experience so far has been with any ceramic coating in a small glass bottle , if you leave a bit in a cap for a few days , it will go hard like a clear piece of glass , any spray coating where you get a lot more product for your money , like gyeon can coat etc, it won’t go hard like glass if left in a cap even if you leave it for a week , my opinion is there’s a reason they are not only cheaper but also you get more product and that reason is there’s not a lot of silica in there compared to the glass bottle ceramic coatings
@InfinityWax
@InfinityWax 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good point, I would pour a small amount of lite into something and leave it, it will harden just like a more durable coating. As part of our R&D on lite which lasted over 2 years, we did look at can coat as it was the closest rival product. What we found was actually quite interesting. Can coat didn’t harden but dried into a tacky/ rubbery substance. On further investigation and obtaining the SDS for can coat we confirmed the reason for this being there is no polysilazane resin in the product, instead a silioxane. So technically can coat isn’t a ceramic coating, it’s a sealant. A good one to be fair.

yer Im not sure about this comment. I think you could be right but ive been doing this for a few months now. EG not revealing what the comparison product is and just calling it market leading. This way it removes the focus of the review going to another product, so a review for the product does not become about the rival product which has had its review. But I could well be wrong and maybe its best just to name the alternative I really dont know but I will keep an eye out for feedback on this point

I’m going to disagree. I like that Dad has chosen to silo a product in a review setting, I feel like keeping the focus on what product is tested in an attempt to limit bias. This is one of those high level discussions where there is no right answer. But, I want to add my voice in if it makes a little difference. You can extrapolate that the leader is either Gyeon or TAC from the video itself. I understand that most people are just looking to be hand fed a video of whatever chemical is the ‘best’ but I think that doing videos in this format going forward will help stimulate comments for better, or worse and create a swirl of conversation Like you said, maybe it’s because infinity wax didn’t want competition - which isn’t true. But, I’ve gotten used to seeing these comments posted with the same frequency as clowns coming out of a clown car. Sorry for the novella but I really enjoy posts like these.

Firstly dear Infinity Wax... if you want to build a loyal customer base please pick up your phone or look at the message taken to call a customer back. I brand companies and work along how that looks once all the brand identity is done, packaging, whatever and the most important thing is YOU. You can have a better product than your competitor but it means nothing if a client can't get through on a phone and 6 months later still not have had a call back. This come across as you take the money and then don't care which I'm sure is not the case. Now looking forward would I buy another product from you if I can't get a question answered by you? Right onwards. I used this on my F31 Melbourne Metalic Red. Imran from In 2 Detailing is an absolute gent, called him to ask for advice what to use and he gives you solid answers his experience and knowledge is second to none. He recommended this to me after some Bilt Touchless pre wash, then AutoG Snow Foam, hand towel dry with one of them Korean micro towels and then using the machine the purple Koche Chemie - what a result that gives you, insane! Then he suggested this to seal it. I have to say it was so easy to use, the results are spectacular and I could sit and watch that shine all day. Using the same washing methods I wash my car every week or two and having applied this in September last year by December the hyper bollox as I call it was non existent. Now for £20 you can't complain, it can be applied on your driveway, it's ready to drive no need to let it sit around, the deepening of colour to your paint is really good and the application is bob on too. It's now April and I have been unable to wash my car for three months due to drive way taken up with scaffolding and house works, went out yesterday first wash same method and the shine is still there but not as strong, certainly no hyper bollox at all but still a decent shine. I can't fault it for the ease of use and results. I will mention that I did not use the Infinity Wax Synergy Prep Professional Panel Wipe, having just machine polished it was clean as, but maybe that contains something to bond the coating to your paint longer? I see they have now brought out Infinity Wax Synergy 2 Year Ceramic Coating so by my experience that could well last a year so I'm tempted to try it but will look into the others first.

remember after you polish a panel, that panel paintwork is pumped and packed out with polishing oil. So after the polish it can be really good to degrease. And the best way to degrease can actually be some hot water and dish soap or a stronger car shampoo. Then carefully dry and panel wipe. Thats the ultimate prep. I will show you some stuff on this subject matter soon. I think the product is decent and the price is good. Its not the most hydrophobic product out there though but that does not mean its any less good or durable. But its not as beady as some others like can coat or moonlight. Decent stuff though.

@@ForensicDetailing Thanks John, I hadn't realised that and will do that this time as I've got Infinity Wax 2 arriving today so I will build myself up to the big car detailing day in the next few weeks. As you said decent stuff and I would have happily used the Lite again if they hadn't brought out the next one. Great for us non garage owners. Thanks for all the reviews, all have helped me make great purchases.
