thought this was a winter guard performance at first, but it was something amazing! it must have been quite a time to practice this. not only the time it must have taken but also the fun had while doing so. I'd be willing to bet the first time those tenors put on the stilts and the drums at the same time was a fun day.

They got a lot of cleaning to do, but this show will definitely win fan favorite!

Between this show and when I saw them the week before, I can tell there were some changes and new things added in, so some dirt can be expected. But I believe it'll all be cleaned up

Imagine if one of the quads on stilts fell.

It would be ugly...and likely result in serous injury. If I were running the group, I would not have approved this. Scares me more than Bluecoats ramp did in 2017.

sam signorelli I’m sure they had plenty of caution going into this

@@jordantyler148 Here's a clip of finals where they added a little more movement at the end (leaning back with the drums). Here, also, is what I wrote on Facebook when I first saw this: I'm sorry...but no. There IS a safety concern here. Balancing heavy tenors while on stilts can't be easy at all, even if not playing. Yes, the "feet" are wide, but if those guys lose balance and fall in ANY direction, it's gonna be ugly. They look strapped in, which works for use of the stilts...but that also means they can't jump away if they start to fall. Such a fall would be bad enough without the drums in the mix...with the drums on (and it's very doubtful any of them could ditch the drums in enough time, far enough away, or not hit someone on the floor with them), you're looking at a greatly increased injury risk. A backwards fall would be especially bad (can you say potential skull fracture?) To be frank, this is the most dangerous thing I've ever seen in any marching art...including Bluecoat's ramp from 2017. Impressive? Hell yes....and kudos to the members for pulling it off. But if I was running that group, I would not have approved this for those same safety concerns. I stand by my original comment.

I wasn’t saying it wasn’t dangerous but from the way they walk it looks like they have it under control and have had plenty of practice
@jordantyler1485 жыл бұрын
It’s probably about as dangerous as running around in a like with other people carrying tenors at 250.
