why isn't anyone talking about the power limit that the infinix has put in their laptops cpu which affects the performance negatively i3 1215u base power is 15w and goes up to 55w but in only infinix laptops they have locked the power limit to the base which is 15 watt causing the cpu to perform at its lowest capabilities.

For normal coding i3 or i5 with 8GB or 16GB should be more than sufficient. i3+8GB can be managed ok, while i5+16GB will make things bit more faster. However if you are looking at full android or chrome os or some such full system builds with lot of packages with lot of dependencies (including repeated across packages/programs), then increasing ram to 32GB is what may give more value for your money, and only then go up the processor ladder from i5 to i7 or so, with parallel building of packages. Given that the difference between i5 and i7 wrt 12th Gen laptop U series is only frequencies, it may not give the same advantage as say moving from i5 U series to i5 P series. With i5 P series you will get similar freq advantage as i7 U series, while additionally getting 2 (inturn 4 threads) more cores. However wrt full system|platform builds, do keep in mind that these slim laptops, may not have the full thermal headroom to allow the cpu to sustain all its core fully occupied. So also it may not make much sense to move from i5 to i7 or so within slim designs.
