Thanks for sharing this information. I was going to go for the Rico 640 but I don’t really need it as much as I want it. I would be better off buying the bolt 35 v2 and saving the rest to put towards a thermal drone.

Well done. Thanks. I have the Pulsar T2 XQ50 Pro and it can't match the clarity at those distances. Now I'm waiting for the upgraded 50mm Bolt to hit the shelves. Hope you do a review on it also.

Your T2 XQ50 Pro can't match the clarity of the Bolt T35?? The Thermion 2 XQ50 Pro is suppose to have a slightly better image than the T35.

Been thermal hunting since 2016. Have logged close to 500+ nights in the field. Had my first hunt with the tl35 v2 bolt, last night and was out for 5 hours. I was shocked at how good my image was. Seriously, it is fantastic. I had my backup rifle with me-a thor 4 640, and there was no comparison. the iray is amazing. Had a good bit of humidity last night before a cool front hit Texas. I was identifying hogs and deer and several owls out to roughly 1500 yards which was the max of the property I was hunting. The actual animal image at 500 + will have a slight pixelation, but if you are experienced under a thermal, it is not difficult to determine a hog, deer, calf, or coyote. I will say that with hogs at 600-800 yds, I felt very capable of making a shot based on the clarity of the image. Never had that good of an image ever before to think I could pull a shot off. Not that I was prepared or would want to take a shot at that distance, but I was zooming in to 9x or having picture in picture mode, and had a good enough image to make a shot. I turned the thor 4 on and it was crap-couldn't even pick up signatures that the iray was easily showing me. I also have a n older IR Defense MKII hunter with a bae core and 640 resolution. I think this iray outperforms both. I hate to say it, but while I am considering the new Pulsar 1024 scope for another rifle, I am heavily thinking about another iray model that can give me a lower base power than the Bolt. That is the only drawback is the 3.0x is somewhat challenging when you need to view something within 20-40 yds of you (in my case, it was a suspected hog along a dry creek bed that surprised me, where I was set up on a large row crop field) . Regardless, If you are considering any thermal as your first or entry level, this is all you need, and then some. And the price point for what you get is a damn good deal. Time will tell how it will hold up with usage

I should have clarified actually that its rats and mice i will be shooting, will they be clearly distinguishable? My friends is very difficult to see what he is shooting at (just a red blob on his scope) so could be a hedgehog or similar?@@texaspredatorhoghunting1776

It’s don’t get that cold in Texas that often so I couldn’t say for sure about that. I’ve ran them in the 20s and they work just fine

Weather conditions will make a huge difference in the image quality
