2 years ago I bought a 13' Saturn inflatable dingy. Main reason for that was lack of space to store a normal boat with trailer. It's a great, sturdy, comfortable boat that sits 5 or me, my wife, son and large dog easily. Fishing from it is great as well because of its aluminum floor and natural sturdiness of an inflatable. You can sit on the side of the boat with your feet in the water and it won't affect the stability whatsoever. And although we all love it, it needs to be said that setting it up and especially packing everything back after an entire day out is a bit tiring and takes time. Couple of weeks ago while shopping at Costco I bought an inflatable, 2 person kayak for less than $200. And after trying it out on the lake I think it's great. Setting up and packing is a snap. And off course now I'm thinking about getting something more serious for fishing. This type of kayak, only two person version seems great. Main thing for me is being able to stand up while out on the water which seems like a tall order for an inflatable kayak, not really possible on the Costco one I bought. Almost a $1000 is a lot of money for that so I have some thinking and research to do...

I have the exact Kayak love it. Aquaglide XL is tops bought 2 seats one for my wife . I bought also Flyrod holders as I do only Flyfishing. But it's a Great Boat .

I bought the tandem Deschutes 145, no dropstitch just an Eva floor, but at 14 feet it's 28 lbs I believe, 600 lb capacity, room for cargo in and out and I freaking love it, I bought a booster seat to keep my butt dry but love love love it Great video, can't wait to get on the water asap! Fishing license about to expire and been used once lol life

I've use an inflatable and like the video says, if you have storage issues, hauling issues, then try inflatables. I personally like the Sea Eagle 285fpb. I can sit and stand for hours in it. I also have a trolling motor on mine which makes it very nice.

I have the Intex Excursion Pro, and it is definitely a solid kayak for the price. I've been looking at the Saturn kayaks as a future upgrade. I've not seen another brand that is as high quality at the prices they offer them. Unfortunately, many models are currently sold out; but they are expecting more inventory soon. They offer a 12' pedal drive inflatable (1100 denier PVC + drop stitch floor) for $799 USD- which is insane! Not sure how much shipping to Canada would cost, but they're worth looking at.

I have the Saturn fishing kayak fk40. Had it 2 years now.Its a beast.Never a leak or puncture. It is not babied.I have had several different inflatables. The Saturn is by far best quality for price.Every bit as good as the sea eagle explorer series at a way cheaper price.Not whitewater rated but can do it if you have bilge pump.

I've used Intex explorer k2 for like 125 on Amazon for like 2 seasons, it's not very comfortable but I caught my PBs along with my wife on the same boat.

It's a Humminbird Fishin Buddy. The mounting plate is from Scotty. So you have to use part of the Humminbird cup tray and Scotty mount parts to attach it to the boat. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching :)

I can't decide between the Aquaglide Blackfoot XL like you have, or the NRS Pike. They're both around $1000 and have similar features. The seat on the Pike is like one that real kayaks have, it looks so comfy

I agree. I just couldn't wrap my head around the drain holes without plugs. Their seat is very comfy. I wanted to order a seat from them but it's backorder. I am waiting for a new seat with a highback.

I have an inter K2 excursion pro as my beginner kayak. I like it and was going for a hard shell next but the more I see the Blackfoot the more I see buying at least one more inflatable.

@@zxcvbnmasdfghjkl42 there is a bit of a learning curve to get to track straight. Once you have it down it’s a blast to paddle. I was looking at the Blackfoot also. I feel you can’t go wrong with either one. It I had to do it over again I would purchase the Excursion again.

Thanks for the comparison, that was helpful. However, it didn't seem like you gave the Chinook a good chance if you spent less than an hour in it. As a total newbie, I'm not sure if the 2x price difference is worthwhile. Is the drying and hook snagging difference worth that? Also, a packed size comparison would be great.

the Chinook is way slower and when you paddle, it goes side to side. For sure the Blackfoot is almost twice the size when folded up but I never use the bag because it's a shitty bag. The 2021 version has a much tougher built bag. If you fish with just 1 rod for an hour, the Chinook is fine but if you have lots of tackle, forget that.

I think I will go for the blackfoot 160. I have a gumotex Rush 2 for normal Kajak and River Walking Adventures. But for fishing I am missing the rod holders and stuff. I think the Blackfoot is one of the best options there are available. At least inflatables of course.

it's a nice ride..you can also look at the Star Pike 2021 version, they deleted all those useless holes at the bottom of the boat. Both are great inflatables for fishing.

@@timothysexton7621 it does come with an adapter. I actually use 2 adapters. I start off with the one that comes with it, then I use one that has a 4 inch tube to finish it off. ( the second one is from my inflatable pontoon) I start with the accordian tube side of the pump ( you'll get 3 pounds out of that) then I use the valve tube side to get to 6 pounds off preassure. As for the paddle, get something lite. Mine is from Sail and got it half price in October. I think I paid $80 instead of 160.

For what your paying I can get a lake boat 17 19 foot long along with trailer and 6 horse powered engine or even bigger . It's redickles the price of one of them even a dingy that can hold an engine as well as 6 to 8 people can cost alot less than that

I will probably buy the 160 angler next week (in France there is not really any other choice of inflatables like the NRS Pike) we mostly have rigid fishing kayaks (or the expensives Hobies). I already have 2 excurtion K1. It "work" but are very weak. I'm not confident using it in saltwater safely (for seabass fishing).

Just to mention, the smaller kayak you have is meant to be an affordable whitewater inflatable. It does not have a skeg, since being able to turn quickly is paramount in a whitewater environment. I would say that craft is not designed for fishing by any means

it does have a skeg but that doesn't matter...what matter is that Aquaglide sells these and mention that it's good for fishing. When I bought it, I had no idea what kayak fishing was because I fished off a inflatable pontoon. So the point of the video was basically telling noobs like myself what to look for.

@@zcezar2914 What I can say is that compared to my rigid kayak, the Aquaglide is more stable. I even out paddled a Guy on a Pelican Catch(rigid) but one thing..the Aquaglide does not like wind at all. Hope it helps.

I guess I'll just get a patch if that happens. I also want to take my Kayak to the California Delta. The main channels of the Delta often have huge commercial boats with 6 foot wakes coming off the back of them. I dont care Im going to try it anyway!! I love to fish for Largemouth Bass and the Delta has lots of big hogs.

@@aaron6371 the seat is a little iffy...I would look to upgrade that...I'm expecting a new seat in a few days. You should also look at the Star Pike, it's about the same price, better seat. The only reason I didn't take the Pike is that there are 30 drain holes at the bottom of the boat and you can't close them like on the Aquaglide and the finishing of keel in front of the boat didn't look protected enough for if it rubbs when coming to shore. I would love to try it though ;)

Ca depend ce que tu recherche. Si c'est pour la peche, tu risque de percé avec tes hamcons car le Coleman est recouvert de nylon( les hamcons aiment ca ;) )Tandis que l'Aquaglide est en pvc...et le plancher est en Dropstitch donc te permets de le gonfler plus dure qui te permet de pecher debout.
