Cool idea! A thought for the minds of young people: A fan like this will actually have less “strain” on it, the more restricted the air path. In fact, if you close off the inlet or outlet completely, the power consumption of the motor would drop significantly. So, when you remove restriction to flow, the fan does more work and current draw of the motor increases in kind.

Is the orange fan stronger? have you found a better fan since posting, the time saved does not seem enough to make all the cutting worth it unless there was another benefit.

I just ordered a 6 AA (9v) battery pack with a usb connection. I'm pretty sure the motor can handle 9v

I have some battery trays from nerf guns in a bin some may be 9v. That would be neat to try because I put a section of pvc glued on one of my fans that fits pool float valves and already works great. Wonder if a motor swap would increase the speed too without adding too much volume.

Actually it took about 45 seconds originally so that's a lot and all I did was cut some pieces out.

The way I did it was. I just bought 2 more blowers and putting it in my te rex suit just to make my suit stronger much stronger and it's stiff really stiff lol

In the end adding blowers helps more. I cut a hole for another blower opposite to the original and it works fantastic.

Thanks I saw the unedited comment and I thought about changing the wire for a thicker gauge. Sometimes my thrift stores have random battery packs. Last night they had a 3v I will look out for a 9 or 12.

@@springsandsanity6366 The blower itself 97 x 33mm with a 80mm finger guard with 2 M4 40mm screws and 2 M4 nuts a tape ring to keep it in place doesn’t restrict the blower by the way as much but you would still get a ton of thrust 1.6 ounces to 3.50 ounces depending on the blower model that you are looking for. The current blower you have is brushless the green one only is 3500 RPM the ones I’m talking about are 5600 RPM to 8300 RPM the amperage varies from 2.94 A-8A the lower amperage is for the 5600 RPM the 1.6 ounces of thrust to that one the 3.50 ounces of thrust is for the 8A. Either one you get is $19 dual ball bearing lasts longest. Just one of those blowers will significantly cut that time in half for your modification and they are already modified even with a filter on them. It doesn’t restrict the thrust much at all to make it Covid friendly or any other virus friendly. Any other questions I’ll be happy to answer. Just other tips to keep in mind when it comes to a better blower

If the battery contacts are clean it could be a wiring issue. The wire is very thin and breaks easily. Sometimes they are bad on arrival because of that.

It's the spooktacular creations version. They are larger and better quality but come with a heftier price tag. They're $65 on sale but I found my on eBay for $40.
