I've had my 330 for 10 yrs. Tips: I switched to lawn chair bags for my kayak, and a second for gear and accessories. Easier weight distribution. Fits under my bed, or the back seat of my vehicle. Love it!

I think this is the most thorough review of how to occasionally go kayaking when choosing a minimalist lifestyle in a van. That said i don't live in a class b motorhome so more time of both of you on the water, paddling show the maneuverability maybe also solo paddling as that will be some of our (your viewers) experience. The part of the video regarding the kayak is all available in every other review and the remainder is the van and how the kayak works with it so i guess that's goo and i commend your lifestyle choice, now i'll look for a more kayak oriented video. Thanks for posting.

Nice review and helpful - I ordered two 330 solos for my wife and I. Looking forward to trying it out.

I have a 2000 dodge 190 popular, and have been known to put three hard shell kayaks in through the back door - 10,12 and 14 feet. Just bought a 393 Razorlite; the plan is to buckle it in on the third seat. Several PFDs and paddles fit under the bed through the back as well. Life is ever evolving...

Good vlog as always. Hope you are now camping and enjoying the wonderful weather. I have a sea eagle 393 RazorLite, which I love. I sold a sea eagle 365 FastTrack, (A two passenger). One thing I liked about them was the solid floor. I recently bought a Oru kayak. It is a little expensive, but much lighter and much more compact. It is an origami kayak. It is something I can put together carry easily. ( and at 68 that is important to me). Also, it stores and packs in very small places.

Thanks, Karen. We did get away for the long holiday weekend to a state forest campground up in northern Michigan (Leverentz Lake). Video review coming soon! 😀 That's interesting to hear about the Oru kayak. We have seen those but wondered about stability and handling. Good to hear it's working out well for you. -Ari

Trekers I bought the Oru BaySt last fall and I was a little leery at first, but found those concerns were unwarranted. The sea eagles are very stable, but I found with a little practice I was fine in the Uru. They do make a a two man kayak that is getting good reviews. The more times I unfold it, the faster and easier It gets. It does take a lot less room for packing an storage. If you get a chance, check Oru out. Oh, I leave for my first big camping trip this week and I can not wait!!! Have a great summer!

Thank you for another great episode. It was informative and funny! I notice your RV's tires were covered. Maybe that can be another episode topic? 😊

We may do something about gadgets and accessories that we have found work well. There is a Christmas gift-list video on our channel from a couple of years ago where we show off some favorites but it's time to update it. The tire covers are relatively new but so far we like them. We will have to share more about those once we've lived with them a little longer. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Own the Pro seat as well as the "regular" seats. The Pro seat was a butt killer for me (am overweight and annoyingly would slide backwards). The "regular seat" just flops over backwards. Thanks to a YT tuber, tried out a Crazy Creek stadium seat with a Montekin kayak seat on top. The stadium seat is to keep the kayak seat up until I can jury rig a way to use the kayak seat strap and clips. IMO it's annoying this model doesn't have more D rings on the sides. I like it, it's robust, but I've had to tinker to get things the way I like. Also, suggest a kayak cart, it's easier to inflate in a parking lot, take the cart with you, and just roll back to the car.

Thanks for the tips. We've seen a lot of different rigs and people almost always have to do tweaks to work just right for them. Good luck as you keep fine-tuning your setup. And thanks for watching!

STORAGE UPDATE: We have changed our packing layout again! Now, the kayak and paddles are in our basement storage unit and the seats and life vests are in the third-seat storage unit. The air pump bag is still stored under our electric sofa. We're always testing new set-ups to make things work easier when traveling and when set up for longer stays.

Anyone considering an inflatable kayak, (or ANY inflatable boat really), should consider investing in a nice cordless mini blower like the Makita model DUB182. They are the best kept secret in the inflatable boating world and will inflate kayaks like this one to operating pressure, or very near it, in seconds not minutes. They will also deflate them to flat as a flitter for rolling up nice and tight. I have 7 inflatable kayaks for river running with family and friends and can blow them all up to operating pressure at a put-in in just a few minutes. I only use a manual pump to take along for on the water "top-offs" and emergencies. You're welcome.

Thank you for sharing this! I have a190 Popular as well and I really like the zippered screen you have on the back. Did you have it custom installed and if so where did you get it? Thanks!
@Trekers3 жыл бұрын
The screen in this video was part of the factory screen package. Since we shot this video, the screen started to wear out, so we have replaced it with a unit for the rear door from Rolef in Canada. It was pricey but seems very well made and, so far, is serving us well. Thanks for watching and commenting -- and safe travels to you in your 190P!

They're called Boston valves and very common on inflatables.

Did you ever find it punctured or the latches breaking?
@Trekers Жыл бұрын
We did end up with one small hole, but the patch kit took care of it quickly enough that we were still able to get on the water. And we've been careful, but it did have some run-ins with rough conditions, so we think it's pretty tough overall.

I can't make this thing go straight somehow. Anyone has the same issue? I'm getting (glueing) a 9in skeg to make a triangle-skeg-system to help mitigating this issue soon but not sure how much it will help...
@Trekers Жыл бұрын
We found that paddling too hard can make the front end a bit squirrely. Also, make sure the built-in skegs are aligned properly. It is more difficult to make an inflatable glide as true as a hard-sided kayak, so it's not just you!
@twilitetide Жыл бұрын
Be careful what you glue it with, I wanted to add D rings but somewhere buried in the documentation or on the website it said to not glue stuff on, because of the "stretchy PVC" used. And yeah, I've had spinning problems. Not sure if it's the loading, currents, or wind, at times. Wish it had longer detachable skegs like the Intex.
