Financial expert Peter Komolafe says that while there will be "some relief" that inflation hasn't risen, there is "only so much that people can do" as their household costs keep on rising by 2%.
Interest rates will remain "around about here" for some time says Komolafe, but are unlikely to fall below 4% or 3% in the near future.

They won't go down, because our GDP figures (out tomorrow) are looking abysmal. Brexit has contributed massively to that from the prespective of labour and trade.

Brexit has been one of the few things to help thise figures. Go on, explain why Getmany had been in recession for so long.... Without word salading it all.

The base rate is more likely to increase than drop next time around. Mortgage lenders have been bumping percentages up over the last two weeks.

well they need to get spending up....how about lowering interest rates by 1% and stop corporations from price gauging and spiralling inflation.

Cut all public spending thats not designated as front line services and increase front line spending by half of the amount saved. The awnser is simple. The will to enact it quite simply is not there

Why do they say most people want to see intrest rates go down? 3 savers to every 1 borrower in this country. Such a stupid thing to say.

Smart man, a very good comment. Retirees are the same as savers. Retirees are starting to outnumber workers so why put all the retires into the poorhouse by cutting interest rates?
