I respect your choice for not having children. As a mother of 5 myself I’d rather see someone make the choice of knowing being a mother isn’t for them rather having a child that ends up being in an unhappy home or worse. Being a parent is a big sacrifice and hard work

Not everyone who decides not to have children is because they would be a mad mum, maybe they simply do not want to
@maxine.12
@maxine.12 8 ай бұрын
@@chelllester I don’t think “being a bad mum” is what they meant, more so that if you have children even if you know you simply don’t want to (perhaps because of societal expectations or pressure or something like that), then you’ll likely be an unhappy home because it’s not a life you truly would have chosen for yourself :)

Why is it a sacrifice? This is the same as having a career or good relationship with your husband. It is a full-time job and requires perfecting all the time. It is like having the dream body. It you want it you do it consistently and you do not quit. It is exhausting but rewarding.

My youngest sister is also child free by choice and it always upsets me that people conflate this with a diminished capacity to love and show kindness to children when that could not be further from the truth. As a healthcare professional, vlogs like these kept me going during Covid. It was and is my escape and my mental health needed/ needs it. It is useful for so many people. I love clothes and style related content, but I also think that your honesty about your life helps others on a deeper level, and that's so important to know others feel the same. As for relationships, I'm so pleased that you and Alex work hard to get out of relationship slumps, as I'm totally convinced that this isn't done enough these days. Divorce is easier, and women are more able to be independent of men, and while this means that people don't need to stay in toxic relationships it also means that it's easier to say goodbye instead of putting a little effort in in situationwhere problemscould be overcome. I heard a poem about marriage, and while I can't remember it exactly, it basically said that marriage is like an empty box, you can't get anything out of it if you don't put something in to begin with (not to mention topping it up on a regular basis). ❤

I knew in my 20’s that i didn’t want to have children and now in my 50’s I’ve never felt any different, even when I started the menopause and knew that my chance had passed. Best decision for myself that I ever made, not to bow to pressure to have kids. I think it’s brilliant that you openly talk about this subject 😀👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you for the insights on your industry. I truly appreciate it. As someone else looking in, I so often watch you & think "damn, she has it all! Beauty, style, talent, drive, home, hubbie, dog, etc." I truly appreciate you sharing that you have thoughts of inadequacy...I don't feel alone. You've shared so much time & again over the years, it has truly made a difference in my life although we've never met in-person. Please know I'm here for you as you have been for me. Thank you for continuing to share your childfree by choice decision online. Myself and my fiance are the same age as you and also have chosen to be childfree. We get so many comments about why we don't want to have children and are often made to feel slightly ashamed that we are happy with our lives just the 2 of us and that career and other priorities are on our life plan instead. It's so comforting knowing other people (especially in the same age bracket as us) are making the same decisions and hopefully beginning to normalise it! xxx

I rarely comment, but live boldly and in your choices!! I'm almost 42 and my husband is almost 43, and we have chosen to not be parents, and rather thoughtfully! We live a beautiful life, not everyone has to have children, and your life choices are between you and your husband. While I love the MANY children in my life, and often have a sleepovers with my nieces, I do not need or want them for roommates, hehe!

I’m so similar with the sensitivity.. It’s weirdly nice to hear someone that is affected the same as me but stories or films etc. I’m such an empath I can’t help but put myself in their shoes and think how that person would feel. I can’t watch war films for that reason and will have nightmare about it if I see bits that are disturbing. Things just BOTHER me, and same as you, I’ll remember it 20 years later.

What a lovely Q&A. Thank you. As spectacular as your and Alex’s work is during fashion week I truly think you’d be pleasantly and gratefully surprised to find that most of us would prefer that you reduce that chaos to an either minimal or non existent degree to preserve the ABSOLUTE most important things that will continue to actually mean anything when all is said and done in life…your overall health and your beautiful relationship with Alex. You both are so incredibly talented in your own way it’s shocking! Your creativity and our enjoyment of whatever amazing content you come up with will NOT be lessened in the least by you skipping all that. To the contrary…I think your creativity will flourish and surprise even you!! Fatigue is the enemy of creativity. Period. We all know what a sensitive soul you are. And there’s a reason why you chose Alex and he chose you. And why you’re able to find and surround yourself with such genuinely wonderful people. 👌😊💙

So honest and open. I would say anyones life purpose is to know in their final moments they were good, kind and honourable. Often we associate purpose to the jobs we have, which is very 'american dream', i don't imagine anyone truly feels fulfilled or at the very least can maintain that feeling through projects or work. With that I want to say that your purpose is being fulfilled already, everyday that you can go to sleep knowing you were good and kind ❤

I really appreciate that you are talking about childless by choice. I am a 63 year old woman and remember receiving so much unwanted feedback when I mentioned in my early 20s that I did not want to have children. It seemed like every one assumed that I did not like children and kept trying to convince me that I would feel difference when I had my own. I hope times have changed and that kind of shaming does not take place now. You also mentioned watching KZbinrs who are 10 years younger and enjoying them….well look at our age difference…..I find so much enjoyment in watching your channel!

Honestly, Vic you are such a straight shooter. Anyone of that 0.01% or whoever they are that can hate on you, are totally nuts! You are real and vulnerable and share your true self and please don’t ever let them take that from you. You are a real one and we love ya for it ❤

Hi Victoria, I’m a 60+ lady that watches your blogs and love to see your style and journey. I only started watching KZbin a few years ago after being diagnosed with cancer, doing well, but you and a few other KZbinrs kept me going. I can’t wear your beautiful clothes or needless to say have the figure to do so but I always loved fashion and you inspire me to keep loving fashion. Enjoy your honeymoon you and Alex deserve it, life is short so take it with both hands and enjoy. Love B 🎉❤😅

I have followed you since your purple hair days. You are not only beautiful on the outside but beautiful in the inside. If you help charities you are better than most. You are doing enough. Keep working hard and enjoy your time with your husband. ❤

Can I just say, Victoria, I work in the fashion industry as well, and we briefly met in August outside Stine Goya in Copenhagen. You stopped as I said hello and I almost wanted to let you go as soon as possible but you stayed to chat a bit longer and I still think about this memory I have of you. I hope you’ll keep finding some joy out of fashion weeks x

In terms of self awareness. Enjoy the body you have now, it will never be as good as it looks now, which is perfect and perfectly you. Trust me when you are older and you look at yourself younger you will say but what was I complaining about back when I was younger, I looked stunningly beautiful. I had about the same look as you about then and your body will change no matter what. Love your content always and your transparency and empathy is so refreshing and appreciated. No child by choice is your choice and luckily you have the sense of decision making now and at the appropriate time and not after it’s too late. You are very intelligent and the head space of the maturity many women can only dream of.

You’re a blessed woman with a BFF like that. She clearly doesn’t mind to see you grow. FYI- No, we can tell you’re sensitive, it’s a beautiful thing. You can tell with how you speak, mannerisms and explaining things.

This is why I've watched for so long and Victoria is the only influencer I watch on KZbin, because she is so geninue, works her arse off and the content is incredible. The team are amazing. Moving back to the North would be amazing!!!! Also, could never get bored of watching and I think most others would agree 🥰
