I would like to see a... ( buckle up this is going to be a long one, this also my personal Fan Fiction) Psyker Kriegsmen, Who becomes a Grey Knight Captin. Essentially a Rogue Pysker living on Krieg's last remaining Hive City Ferrograd. The Psyker is desperate, and need some quick cash so he trades some of his DNA (Blood, Hair, Saliva, Sperm. Whatever is required to make a clone). Not knowing what was going to happen with it. The Rouge Psyker exits the story (He's no longer useful to the greater narrative) A batch of Krieg Clones are made unaware that some of them are Psykers. (Not that it's going to matter since majority of Kriegsmen die before their 18th birthday). There is one of these clones who live long enough to awaken, and use his Psyker Powers. He becomes a great boon for the Death Korps. So his role is made much important than that of the average cannon fodder Kriegsmen. The Psyker Kriegsmen starts making a name for himself. So much so that the Inquisition finds out about him. This Leads to the long, and arduous trials that Pyskers undergo to see if he is of any use to them, or he needs to be turned into a battery for the Emperor. The testing on him leads to them confirming what we already know. He's a damn good fighter, with an incredible ability to have extreme control over warp (dude kicks ass, and is an amazing Psyker because the Kriegsmen basically don't have emotion, and don't know fear). So word spreads throughout the Inquisition that there is a Psyker Kriegsmen. Some Grey Knight Captains (possibly even Kaldor Draigo, or whatever sound more plausible to you) get sahold of this information, and want to scout the Kriegsmen. The Psyker Kriegsmen go's through the Grey Knight trials. He does exceptionally well, as expected of a Kriegsmen. He goes through some more Psyker Trials and Training to become a more skilled Psyker. Finally after all the Trials, and Training he becomes a Grey Knight. He gets the Emperor's Gene Seed, and Silver Terminator Armor. But it's thought a good idea. To allow him to keep his memories since they know his secret. That he's a clone, and how clones are made. It was also thought that having his memories as a soldier could make you a better Kight. His one goal is to serve the Emperor, and follow orders, and kill chaos demons. Over time he becomes his own Knight Captin. Where he clones him self as the template for his branch of the Grey Knights will be made up of Clones. The Inquisition turns a blind eye to this because they just want results. Finally these Grey Knight will take ordinary Kriegsmen turn them into clandestine set of foot soldiers to take into battle to split the defense of the demonic threats they fight. Essentially the foot soldiers are there to deal with lesser threats and enemies, so the Grey Knights can solely focus on the demonic entities. By doing this the Crush there enemies by sheer overwhelming force, the Kriegsmen way. (Kriegsmen Clones can't succumb to demonic influence because of their lack of emotions, and past connections such as family)

not to be that guy, but it is interesting to note that the cadians came out in 1995, two years before starship troopers and 6 years before halo CE, they looked slightly differnt than they do today however, I think it is still very clear that Cadians, USNC marines and the movie starshiptroopers took inspiration from the colonial marines and not from each other, its neat to see one concept explored in three wildly different ways
@KrakDuk6 ай бұрын
Yeah some others pointed that out, however the cadians that came out on 1995 had a different look, the current iteration or previous iteration if you think the knee pad cadians constitute a new one. The ones with the large pauldrons, flak chest piece, and distinct helmet came out around 2003 which would be after CE. I can definitely see the argument of the Cadians and UNSC marines both just being offshoots of the colonial marines though. The biggest thing that makes the UNSC marines look like cadians to me was the large pauldrons and helmet shape. However, I can definitely see those being the designers exaggerating the Colonial Marines design elements. I agree it is pretty cool to see how inspirational Aliens was. I definitely feel it’s one of the most important pieces of sci fi Thanks for watching!

Not sure if it's worth noting, but back when 40k was still envisioned as a tabletop CRPG called Rogue Trader, the intended main characters/posterboys of the setting were, well, the Rogue Traders. Sure, they're exceedingly rich with a lot of resources and are one rung down from the Emperor as far as the most powerful people in the Imperium go (the only people more powerful than them that aren't bound to a golden la-z-boy are the High Lords of Terra), but it is a little neat that from the very beginning, it was always about "normal" humans, not post-human half-demigods literally unable to make their own choices without extradimensional tampering. Those normal humans just so happened to be high-tier elites gallivanting around uncharted space with a harem of alien sex slaves and a piece of paper signed by God that says "I can do whatever I want"

The style of thier uniforms of beautifull patterns on thier armors. thier origins from the Vostroyan nobility and the elite cavalry unit that looks like the Winged Hussars points at them being not space russians, but space Poles from the times of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

If you could make your own guard regiment what would y’all base it off of? (Awesome video man)
@KrakDuk6 ай бұрын
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video! I actually wrote lore for my own homebrew regiment I needed out below a bit, but TLDR they live on a mostly aquatic planet with one supercontinent that’s pretty much completely under imperial control. My regiment is basically nautical flavored Cadians fighting pirates and sea monsters. My homebrew lore: Some cadian regiments got stranded on the planet due to warp storms and trained the local PDF in cadian war doctrines and the locals taught them how to navigate the jungles and fight better on the beaches in return. The imperials have near complete supremacy of the land so they mostly fortify the coasts. They have Kars lining the coastlines to protect against daemonic incursions coming from the depths of the sea. In addition, they have kasrkin killteams patrolling in valkyries ready to drop on any threat that slipped past the perimeter defenses. Along with the daemons, the imperials also have to deal with pirate orks sailing the seas, eldar corsair fleets, and giant tau battlesuit presence. I’d say my lore is mostly based on cadians (and their influences), d-day type battles, some American pilgrim elements, Pacific Rim, drop troopers in general (originally wrote the kasrkin to resemble ODSTs, ARC troopers, and real world paratroopers), pirates, a little Jurassic park, and just general sea monster tales.

It's my goal to make at least a platoon out of every Guard range GW has made throughout 40k. The Steel Legion are my favorite, but I like them all and I can probably easily convince myself to turn them all into companies over platoons.

To be exact, most soldiers in WW1 used shovels or clubs, because the trenches were just too narrow to use effectively your bayonet. But, if you get out of the trench, the bayonet mounted on the rifle, gets its advnatage back, as its longer reach will allow you to kill your opponent before he can harm you ^^ So really, the only time a shovel is useful is close quarter in a trench, and of course building that trench XD

Elysian drop troops: French and british paratrooper. =>Come from a rather pleasant planet reminiscing France and UK. =>The name of the planet is Elysia (like the Elysean field avenue and the Elysean palace in Paris) =>They actually have a very productive stellar system (which kinda have some colonal Empire undertone) and are regularly plagged by pirate, dispatching PDF to deal with them (anti-piracy and expeditionnary roots of many units within the French and British armies) =>Bullpup lasgun (like the SA80 & the FAMAS) with a bigass handle (FAMAS) =>Love to slap bigass canon on small jeeplike vehicle like in the French mecanized recon doctrine =>Rather discreet and perfect exemple of quiet professionalism seen in French and British militaries. =>Mostly known for being extremelly efficient, but being sent into impossible situation that lead to their ultimate demise (Market Garden & Dien Bien Phu)

@andreibarbu60296 ай бұрын
Ok, if you do a second one, pls include the Talarn Desert Raiders. I would personally describe them as a historical what if? What if Laurence of Arabia commanded the 7th Armored nicknamed The Desert Rats. They won the biggest tank battle in imperium history, the 7th is a tank div which won some of the biggest tank battles in WW2, and employee hit and run tactics along side manuver warfare, hit and run: Laurence/The LRDG/ Detachment L (the mf S.A.S.), maneuver warfare: 7th Armored. Their esthetic is also very arab with the head wear wich is something that both Laurence, the LRDG (Laong Range Desert Group) and the S.A.S. adopted whilst in their respective desert. Also if you'll do the Armageddon Steel Legion, yes german WW2 BewegungsKrieg, but also on a random note, look at the helmets, they remind me of the FalshimJager helmet, german paratroopers. Also the trench coat could be of german inspiration since they had a few in WW2. Colors, idk, Desert fox/FS Jager. But yes please do another one!

My own guard regiment design follows Finno-ugric legends of kveningar/Jatulin pojat/sons of giants (real people group living in northern most finland norway border. Mercenaries by trade, highly ancestral worship driven and larger than average man but not to a level of "actual giant" so 6'5-6'10 is or 192-204cm tall guys are the norm. Beast hunters who wield traps and snipers with specifically designed spears that cause massive bleeding wounds rather than get stuck deep in the target. On their home planet basic rules are that you either hunt or grow your own food so they have a lot of armored animals on their peg and call. As their planet doesn't have that high demand for guardsmen and their population is small, they work in highly effective hit and run style, with barrage of artillery followed by sniper fire, with their positions being designed specifically to trap enemies so they have time to hide again. Mountains are their favored terrain as it limits enemy mobility even further. As more of an mercenary force, as part of guard they would be few dozen elite snipers in single division. And when it comes to melee, if you can bleed getting wounded by their spears is going to be enough to kill you even if it takes a short while.

@@KrakDuk I'm honestly not sure, there doesn't seem to be much of any further lore on them, though I do find it weird they hadn't succeeded or rebelled from the Imperium just as the IRL Confederates had succeeded from the rest of the US if memory serves me right. Though I've also had this question I've been wanting to ask, if the Arkan Confederates fell to Chaos, which Chaos God would they most likely align themselves with?
