The biggest big business in America is not steel, automobiles, or television. It is the manufacture, refinement and distribution of anxiety. - Eric Sevareid The bigger the information media, the less courage and freedom they follow. Bigness means weakness. Spot on. Furthermore, she fails to cite any of the bibliographical information on the last slide throughout the bulk of the presentation and pawns off many of these uncited slides as originating in her own mind. Also, she mentions that what she practices is a "science" even though she is clearly in a systems management field. Whether or not she truly believes this or is being intentionally misleading is unclear. There are clearly some useful techniques for filtering out low quality information and misinformation at the individual level in the presentation, however, the presenter should have been far more thorough and professional about citing her research.

I dismiss out of hand anything emotive that fails to cite an original source. I don't particularly care about the source as long as the facts stack up and can be verified independently - which is what I'm hunting for when I snap to the source. If I'm active on a topic, facts which are problematic are reported back to the narrator for review. If the narrator fails to review and attempts to derail the conversation with sophistry, I know I can rest assured that I'm looking at an active propaganda or disinformation campaign. So I can afford to disregard this information or take appropriate action if I feel it's required. Again, the source doesn't matter to me. It's all about the underlying facts or, failing that, about the agenda and whether that agenda is actionable (in terms of countermeasures) because the disinformation game is a cult activity which has no borders and respects no national jurisdiction and this is how it is so effective at undermining social cohesion on the national scale (e.g. the "Domino Effect" - but the Nazis had been at this years before, the Eugenists before them and it's the going theme in religious, political and "therapy" cults of all stripes). So, when it comes to propaganda, the key question always revolves around agenda. Moreover, there's no point dropping the bottom out of one of these propaganda campaigns if something else is just going to take it's place. There is also the question of it's impact on positional analysis of the broader Goban of the global social network. Is it just a stone randomly tossed on the Goban by a clueless player? Is it a devious sacrifice? Is it a Tesugi? Is it a Ko? Is it Shicho? Is there a "Crane's Nest" in play? And, if it's even worth pursuing (and much of the nonsense from western sources isn't worth the time of day because the dynamics of the broader social Goban are lost on most of us) then the question is how to nail the basis for the agenda, not just for the particular snippet of information which may be only one of hundreds or thousands of diverse items of disinformation; i.e so in nailing one, another takes it's place. But, if you can nail the basis of the agenda, then they're sunk - and, in practice, the kind of psychopaths that run these campaigns know it which is why they nearly always try to derail dialogue with personal attacks when things take a turn down this road. It's also, very much, not about being right so much as being aware of the plays being made on the broader Goban of the social network and forming an understanding of how these plays interact to produce a collective outcome in terms of consequences and flow-on collateral impact. So long as you fail to up your game at this level, you'll always be playing catch-up after a campaign has recruited and indoctrinated sleeper agents; often after the sleepers have been activated when it is already too late to act.
