So the SI lock brace was inside out. The sticky webbing goes against the body not outside. Additionally the two braces demonstrated oare not particularly effective. In order to gain adequate support you need a pulley-style brace. There is no danger to wearing the brace 24/7. The brace substitutes for the ligaments, not muscles. It's primarily stabilized by ligaments. Therefore your muscles do not get weak from wearing the brace. I tell patients you can wear the brace as much or as little as you find helpful. It's a tool and you'll figure out overtime how to best use it to figure all needs. There is also minimally invasive surgical stabilization for cases that cannot be controlled with bracing alone. There is several different methods where this is achieved.

As a 7yr user of an SI belt, I can tell you this: 1: THE specific belt she used on the skeleton as a demo IS the most effective belt I own! "and I have 6." 2: I believe that the belt DOES weaken muscles. I say this with confidence, because I also practice jiu-jitsu and have noticed the muscles in question... But, my last point is this, 3: you seem to be commenting about something you prescribe, but don't use.... therefore, how do you feel completely confident in your reply to this video? Genuine question.

Hypermobile SI joint, your placement instructions have helped so much that I slept through the night for the past 2 nights in comparison to 9 months of misery in the 4th flare up over 5 years. Can you please help me understand the dangers of needing to wear this 24/7 to help myself? I notice abdominal discomfort beginning on the opposite side of my problem joint. I am hypertensive, have vertigo and double vision from a brain injury, and without the belt my joint is so hypermobile that I've been bed ridden since February in blackout levels of pain if I sit or stand too long.
