FAWAZ: My husband, Great Music Director Moslehuddin, made arrangements with one of his film producers to invite Rushdie to Lahore from Karachi, and was the first to record his wonderful voice. Of course, after this initiation, other Music Directors persuaded their producers, to include Rushdie's voice to embellish their musical film scores. What a Great Singer! We were so shocked and greatly saddened in Birmingham, UK, to hear of his demise at such a young age. My husband and I, with our two very young children had already left for England on 7th of August 1971, and were, therefore, out of touch with film news from back home. There were no modern facilities then of mobile phones and laptops and the like. Trunk calls could be booked for 3 minutes only, and if the weather was poor, then there was hardly any substantial conversation possible! History for you! Fawaz, I wish to thank you gratefully, for enlightening me regarding details of dear Rushdie's demise. My husband is no longer here to share this with me, as his demise took place in Birmingham on Wednesday 6th August 2003, exactly on the same day and date as my Great father, Sajjad Sarwar Niazi departed from us in Lahore, except the year was 1969, and we were still in Lahore. May they both Rest in Peace, along with Dear Rushdie. Aameen.

I really like your overview on such clips and commentary thereof on social media. Your detail is really interesting and knowledgeable. I belong to that age group when our Pakistani film industry was in transition after passing its 3rd decade and new brood was replacing the old ones. But even those days there was a good number of young generation who equally liked films and music of past era. I by myself was one of them. Unlike today, those days popular past movies showed on cinemas from time to time. This is why I had a good knowledge of the past affairs of film industry, films and filmstars. I was a teen when I started a job in a banking organization in 80's at Karachi. My immediate officer was Mr. Zamir Ahmad who had been a film journalist and editor cum publisher of a weekly paper "Film Herald", Karachi. When I used to share my knowledge with him about film industry, filmstars and singers from previous era he became surprised. Once he said about me "you are a bridge between present and past generations with this knowledge of filmy saga." Some pieces of information from past when I passed on to him were really surprisingly unheard by him. Likely his tips cause to enhance my treasure of filmy info with pleasure. Time changes. Too fast. It's painful too. And relieving either!
